This week’s episodes of GMA Network and Viu’s Beauty Empire were essentially all about Shari. She was in the spotlight this week as we learned more about her backstory and pretty much were told why we should be #TeamShari apparently lol

This week’s episodes give me hope that GMA Network and Viu’s Beauty Empire will indeed be just 40 episodes. It was a fast paced week with lots of big revelations and developments. And so already a third of the way into the series (hopefully), it should make the story flow very nicely.

Episodes 5 through 8 were good. They essentially focused on establishing the central Noreen-Shari rivalry while expanding on the potential nefarious things going on at Velma Beauty involving Miss Velma herself and her husband Eddie.
I honestly did not have high expectations for Beauty Empire based on the trailer and teasers they’ve released so far. I wasn’t sure what to make of it really. They made it seem as simply some glossier version of the typical viral-mining teleserye that peppers Philippine TV today. And that might be exactly what many others are looking for. But I was a bit tepid on the show going in and was ready to conclude the show just wouldn’t be for me.
After watching the first four episodes, color me surprised! And pleasantly surprised at that. I enjoyed the first week of episodes of the latest collaboration between GMA Network and Viu, along with Creazion Studios.
