Some great songs today from BILIB, VXON, Jung Yong Hwa, Hanse x Laveen and 1VERSE
“Balang Araw” by BILIB
“Hindi Ka Bibitawan” is my #3 favorite track of 2025 so far. And BILIB just released another great song that could easily make my list at the end of the year as well! “Balang Araw” is a beautiful, emotional ballad, again showcasing the group’s very underrated vocals. BILIB has released great music so far since their debut. But they are 2-for-2 so far this year! And it is so exciting to see! Again hoping that full album is coming soon! (And also an MV for this song too please AQ Prime!)
“Dapat Lang Ako Lang” by VXON
VXON quickly returns with a fresh new track. And fresh it is with the bright “Dapat Lang Ako Lang”. I don’t know that it will top “Shit Sobrang Init” as my favorite VXON track of the year so far, but it’s definitely a close 2nd. It’s great to see the group releasing a diverse mix of songs. And this is one I definitely enjoy.
“Night Runner (Shooting Star)” by Jung Yong Hwa
CNBLUE’s Yonghwa is back with a new solo album and it is another excellent release. Featuring some personal and diverse tracks including title track “Night Runner (Shooting Star)”, it’s another great showcase for him like the excellent Your City in 2023. “Night Runner” is a melodious pop track evoking the emotions of a dreamy night, perfect to express the emotional lyrics. Such a great album! You’ll be hard pressed to choose a favorite song since they’re all so good!
“Smoky” by Hanse x Laveen
Where have I been that I have not listened to Do Hanse’s new music since the release of “Gummy Bear” in 2023. I have a lot to catch up on. And his latest song with Laveeen entitled “Smoky” is a great place to start. The rock-powered track is a pre-release single from their upcoming collab album. And it is such a great passionate performance from them two, effortlessly expressing the emotional lyrics. Definitely excited to hear more from them and also listening to all the surely great music from Hanse I missed last year!
“Multiverse” by 1VERSE
If you haven’t been following 1VERSE on social media before their debut, then “Multiverse” will be a great introduction to them. The fun group is preparing for their debut and this pre-release track gives a great taste of their sound and style. Though the music video does tease something at the end that might surprise. But we’ll wait for their official debut for that. “Multiverse” is a great pop track with just the right nostalgic summer vibes. Whether romantic or the closeness of friends, the song is relatable and easily appealing. Definitely helps raise the anticipation of their debut next week!
