Jiip asks Siita if it is worth degrading himself to become as low as AkaGavv. Liselle pops in to say that even if he does change his stomach mouth, he’ll still be as cute as he is now. She encourages him to be brave now, for Siita’s sake.

That evening, Hanto returns to the spot where his mother was taken. He thinks of Kenji-san’s offer and agrees to take him up on it. He wonders if that’s what his mother would want.

Next day, Rakia brings home his fixed Driver when Shoma comes in to talk to him about Hanto’s situation. Shoma asks what he would do. Rakia says he’d still kill him. If a part-timer wanted to turn over a new leaf and leave Stomach Inc, Rakia would turn a blind eye like Shoma did for him.

But he wouldn’t be able to do the same to Comeru’s killer. Finding that culprit is the only reason he is still here, Rakia says.

Episode Thoughts

Well damn! So first of all, why does Jiip all of a sudden get a pass while Siita and Lango die so easily. I was ready for him to go bye bye, to be honest. lol No more crazy sister-obsessed brother, you know? Lol

I guess it’s either Nyelv’s did something to the mouth to partly shield Jiip from any potential attack. Or more likely it’s Liselle’s doing. And just more reason to not like her. lolol

Speaking of, we already had plenty of reason to be satisfied by Glotta’s eventual demise. But her killing Kenji-san after the emotional moments of these two episodes, particularly Hanto’s difficult decision definitely erase any tiny, tiny bit of goodwill that was left (if there was any in the first place lol) toward her.

Like, come one sis. I mean, we already know you’re a crazy murderer. But you didn’t have to add to your list of evil. Lol

The final scene and of course the preview obviously confirms the big revelation about Comeru’s death. So at this point, I’m all ready for Rakia to not be as forgiving or soft-hearted as Hanto and finish Glotta off for good next week! lol

I don’t care if she’s close with Uncle Dente or needs a father figure or has self-esteem issues or whatever. lol It’s just her time to go. I’ll just be a little annoyed that Liselle and Jiip will outlive her lol

Anyway, as the title of the episode refers to, this was a great way to show the two sides of revenge. I don’t think anything about Hanto or Jiip’s quests for revenge came as a surprise. But the episode did a very good job telling their stories.

It was a MaGMCM for me when Kenji-san begged Hanto to kill him to pay for his sins. It’s the most striking moment yet showing a “reformed” drug addict/Stomach Inc lackey.

And Kenji and the Ando family was a perfect way to tell that story. Of course Hanto would not take Kenji’s life-for-a-life offer. Of course his mother would not want him to take another’s life. And that is very much an example of Hanto’s own growth as a character too. He even specifically mentions that at the beginning of the episodes about Shoma and Rakia.

It is the complete opposite for Jiip who is just simply a crazy wacko who likes being in his sister’s body. Eek. Lol

And it will be different for Rakia next week too. But we’ll wait and see how that all plays out.

Overall for this episode, a strong and emotional story that properly wraps up a major thread for Hanto while also helping to further the themes and grander narrative of the season too. Excellent!

  1. For the record, even with the upcoming twist, I don’t “hate” Glotta any more than the other Stomachs; you know they’d do the same things in a heartbeat. Plus, she has “dimensions” to her character and isn’t as hateable as Gremlin, Thouser, Olteca, Daichi from Geats, etc.
That being said, with Lango likely surviving in some way after being defeated by Shoma and Jiip surviving getting completely demolished by Shoma this episode, I’m gonna find it very ridiculous if Glotta is fully killed off by Lakia’s inevitable new form. Killing off the most popular of the Stomachs and probably the most popular villain of the season behind Suga still with 10 episodes to go would be a… choice. And she’d be the first Stomach actor to get the “flowers” and everything; that wouldn’t be right!
My guess is she’ll be secretly saved at the last minute by a returning one-eyed Lango. He seemed to be fond of her the same way a boss is fond of a competent employee, even comforting her before he left and faced off with Shoma, so I could see it happening. Lango’s “death” also devastated her the most, so her dying without ever learning he’s still alive would be weird. Plus, I’d love to see her freaked-out reaction to whatever crazy thing Nyelv did to fix Lango. Maybe “Lango” will have occasional habits of smiling crazily, snapping his fingers, and actually giving Shoma and Hanto the decency of referring to them by their actual names.
Speaking of which, if a Bitter Gavv was able to make Jiip, the weakest of the Stomachs, that strong, then imagine what one would do for one-eyed Lango. He’d probably be above Shoma and Bocca’s levels of strength. Ironic that it’s a human’s invention that’s allowing the Stomachs to up their game.

    1. Glotta may have shades with her liking for her family, she had blood on her hands since episode 04, though. Sooner or later, she had to pay it with her life.

      1. I’m not saying she shouldn’t pay for it all. I just want her to last until the third-to-last episode or second-to-last episode. Killing her off at Lakia’s hands after everything Lango and Jiip have survived would be a baffling decision. Making her, a villain with Yodonna-level popularity, the first Stomach actor to get the “flowers” would be insane, especially since Suga already got his “flowers,” but he’ll very likely be making a return through Shintaro Asanuma voicing him as a Granute in said Granute’s human disguise. And we all know there’s one prominent Granute who’s MIA….
All this could be a great way to reveal that Lango (and perhaps Suga literally alongside him) is “alive” as a foreboding cliffhanger that signifies the start of the Jaldaks’ downfall. Plus, if Lakia and Glotta’s fight takes place in her factory, then Lakia could still get a huge win by demolishing the source of Dark Treat production, ensuring no other Granute families will go through what he went through again and pissing off Bocca in the process by screwing up his plans.

        1. I don’t think Glotta had the same level of popularity as Yodonna. And it’s obvious Lango will return, in the opening, he wasn’t erased like Shiita.

          1. She’s already had two audio dramas written by her talented actress. Maybe she’s not Yodonna-level popular, but she’s still extremely popular. I know production started earlier than usual, but the drooling over Glotta started once the character images were released, so the producers would have to been blind to not have noticed and accounted for that. And like I said, not even Siita’s actress has received the “flowers” yet despite her character being long dead. Making Machi Chitose the first one to get the “flowers” sounds like a bad joke and would honestly kill some of my fondness for this season.

    2. I absolutely agree about Glotta potentially being offed before other siblings. They haven’t even explored her character yet. So that would be a huge waste.

      1. Yeah, I wouldn’t be fond of the idea. It wouldn’t make sense narratively and on a power scaling, since Jiip is somehow still alive after getting thrashed by a Final Form. Although I do enjoy how they’ve been showing her in a semi-sympathetic light lately. I’m curious about the reason why she’s the only one of the Stomachs to care about the others (except Shoma lol). I feel like they can still have Lakia get an even bigger win out of all this if their fight takes place in Glotta’s Dark Treat producing factory and Lakia destroys it, focusing on the “big picture” instead of just simple revenge. And like I said, it’d a killer opportunity to reveal that Lango’s still alive, albeit a bit “off” occasionally perhaps thanks to Nyelv choosing to bring Suga back along with him.
