Wednesday Waves, May 21, 2025 – Lim Sejun, 2Z, Jeong Sewoon, Jaechan, Jung Seung Hwan

For today’s Wednesday Waves, five tracks from Lim Sejun, 2Z, Jeong Sewoon, Jaechan and Jung Seung Hwan that could easily find a spot on my year-end favorites list!

“Summer” by Lim Sejun

I love it! It is so exciting to see Sejun making his solo debut. And even more awesome seeing the directorial vision of the talented bosses of WayBetter, from20 and Hello Gloom, blend seamlessly with Sejun’s own talent and artistry. This perfectly titled track evokes the warm, memorable, yet fleeting moments of summer and summer love. It is not hard to easily get swept away with the track and Sejun’s performance.

“CrossRoad” by 2Z

2Z is really taking over my 2025 in music! After an excellent album release earlier this year, they are back with this amazing track. “CrossRoad” is a beautiful rock ballad. The encouraging lyrics glide across the emotional melody. And the band of course delivers another flawless performance. I love it! And I will definitely be seeing you “CrossRoad” in my year-end favorites list!

The B-side track “Luv Affair” is another great track as well. Especially if you want some of 2Z’s funkier side as well.

“Goodbye” by Jeong Sewoon

Jeong Sewoon is back with an excellent album and an excellent title track in “Goodbye”. The emotional midtempo ballad has Sewoon singing of letting go of a lonely relationship. Sewoon’s effortless vocals glide across the bittersweet lyrics as he delivers a performance you know you can expect from him. The rest of the album Brut features four more tracks that are just as good, coming together for perhaps one of my favorite albums from him yet!

“Poster Boy” by Jaechan

I was definitely not expecting this track when seeing DKZ’s Jaechan was making his solo comeback. But what a pleasant surprise! This mood making R&B track is catchy with Jaechan delivering a confident and flirty performance. Definitely a lot of swag and charisma here! A great track!

“One More Day” by Jung Seung Hwan

I was surprised to see that I have not featured Jung Seung Hwan on Music Monday yet since I’ve listened and enjoyed his music over the years. But now’s as good a time as any to start. His latest release “One More Day” is a beautiful ballad. Seung Hwan expresses the regret and longing of the lyrics with his powerful, yet controlled vocals. And it’s hard not to get caught up in the emotions of the song. An excellent performance of a beautiful song.
