Episode Thoughts

A very nice episode. Teamwork. Appreciating your snacks. And Uncle Dente happy and content leaving his grand-nephew in good hands.

I will say though the emotions that welled up from that zoom out of Uncle Dente were completely shattered by that final scene. Ugh. Lololol I could do without that interruption, thanks. lolol

No, but really, of course I would love to see more of Uncle Dente being a mentor figure for Shoma. But I very much appreciate how the show was able to have many scenes of him with Hanto, Rakia, and especially Sachika too. If they had to reach this conclusion for him, I’m glad they were able to include those great interactions. And all of them I think really meaningful both in a story-sense and for each character as well.

But for Shoma, specifically, it helped bridge that gap between the two worlds and his two sides. Especially maintaining and showing a positive connection to his family. So Uncle Dente is very much a huge part of the season.

I hope they don’t just pretend he doesn’t exist now though, you know? Like, if he’s gone, then address it. He would deserve it. If he’s alive and well, then even better!

Elsewhere, I think the whole “I’m not appreciating the food” theme was very good as well. Not taking things for granted is obviously a good lesson. And it’s a great lesson for Shoma, especially when his whole character is about love of delicious foods which also give him immense power.

So completing the new toy power up with that lesson is perfect.

Then we have more great teamwork. First with everyone at Hapipare pitching in to make delicious foods. And then Hanto and Rakia helping to tee up Magen at the battle for Shoma. The 100 Gochizos helping also before dying and flying up to snack heaven at the end lol Good stuff! And great action to go along with it.

Now, I guess, to the Stomachs. If we have to talk about them. lolol

First, I very much liked Glotta’s horrified reaction to Jiip and his Siita skin suit. Because any other reaction would be weird and gross. Lol There’s nothing normal or nice or heartwarming about enjoying being in your dead sister’s body!! Come on now! lololol

I will say, while I do not appreciate Liselle’s disrespect either, it was certainly very interesting to hear her comment about Glotta having no focus or goal or dream, etc. At the same time, that kind of seems to set up the moment where she realizes what she wants in life too late. Like, with her last breaths, she states her dream and regrets and all that. You know that familiar scene in Kamen Rider and Sentai lol

But we’ll see. I hope she outlives the Jarudaks at least. Lol

More support for Nyelv being Final Boss I think. Just accumulating all he needs for his endgame it seems like. But it’s nice to finally see Lango-niisan back outside of the castle/mansion/factory after a long time. Would be great to see him versus Shoma.

Overall, another great episode of course!

  1. Huh. I really thought Nyelv was gonna use Magen as a vehicle to bring Suga back in a Granute body. Maybe he did just leave his only friend to rot.
I’m hoping Liselle regrets the “advice” she gave Glotta. Maybe Glotta will be the one, or at least play a role in, taking that brat down. It’s very likely Liselle dying off will quickly lead to President Bocca’s downfall as well, since his daughter’s death would make him go on a vengeful rampage.
But I actually loved that scene with Glotta in this episode. She’s really the only one of the older trio who seems to have a heart buried deep down. Liselle pointing out her lack of ambition compared to the others makes me interested to see where they’ll go with that. I could just be spitballing here, but there’s still the matter of Suga’s unfinished project to create the most powerful being in existence who can never die. Depending on if Suga does indeed return through Nyelv’s handiwork, maybe becoming the strongest life form will be Glotta’s ambition, especially since Lango (likely the strongest of the siblings) is set to get a pounding from the Riders in these next two episodes.
Speaking of which, we’re getting to see Lango’s full Granute form next episode. Something interesting is that each Stomach Sibling’s full Granute form is based on a Norse mythological creature. Glotta’s based on a Kraken (a beautiful one in her case 😍🥰). Shita and Jeebh are based on the twin wolves Skoll and Hati. Nyelv will also presumably be based on a sea monster, something involving piranhas. And Lango’s based on a Dragon. Which dragon is unclear at the moment. I think he’ll be based on Fafnir, a dragon infamous for killing his father to take his riches. And depending on if, in the next two episodes, we learn how Bouche died, that Norse dragon may fit Lango to a tee….

      1. Oh, I know what she did, even if I have a bunch of hilarious and outlandish “excuses” for everything bad deed she’s done 🤣😆. Still, she’s the only one of the older trio who even slightly values family. Lango only sees his siblings as employees, and it’s very possible he killed Bouche to become company president earlier than intended. Nyelv left his little sister to die for his “research,” and the only one he cares for and trusts is Suga. But if Nyelv does actually revive Suga as a powerful Granute so they can continue being research partners, they’ll likely turn on each other eventually since Nyelv experiments just for the sake of it while Suga experiments for a purpose stemming from something tragic that happened to a loved one.

    1. Oh! A very interesting theme! Certainly would not be the first thing to come to mind when thinking of a snack-themed season hehe
I’m definitely #TeamGlotta against Liselle and even Jiip. The older siblings need to get the young one in check lol

  2. Nice episode, with Sachika’s good advice (as usual) and all the things about Stomach Inc are interesting. By the way, Gavv’s new power up makes me think of DBZ, when Trunks fought Cell while increasing his physical strength, making his speed decrease, I think it’s not the last final form, or it must be fixed.
