Some really excellent music from VXON, Ha Hyun Sang, Niel.
“Sh*t Sobrang Init” by VXON
I will admit, I wasn’t much of a fan of VXON’s “Agila” which they opened the year with. I liked “Tabi Tabi” a little more, but last year’s entire 20:20 album really raised my expectations for the talented group. And finally, for my own personal preference, their latest track “Sh*t Sobrang Init” easily reaches the heights of their excellent 2024 album. The perfect summer vibes of a track with just the right amount of seductive romance; VXON delivers an awesome performance I can easily imagine alongside their winning tracks from 20:20. Like the title says, it is really hot talaga! lol A perfect title for the perfect track for the season. And a great reminder of just how good VXON is!
“Cat” by Ha Hyun Sang
I miss Hoppipolla as they were really such a refreshing group. But it’s been great to see the members continuing to offer up some great music as solo artists. Ha Hyun Sang definitely has and he is back with a new song in “Cat”. The emotional midtempo pop track allows for Ha Hyun Sang’s vocals to convey the song’s poignant lyrics in a relatable and engaging way. Really a great song. And the B-side track “Wait For Me” is just as great as well.
“Lost” by Ha Hyun Sang
And after checking out the two tracks, I missed another release from last month. The song entitled “Lost” has Hyun Sang expressing the complex emotions of the lyrics in a refreshing spring melody.
If you haven’t checked him out yet, these are great songs to meet him through!
“She” by Niel
Niel is back with fresh music and “She” is a soulful, sultry and groovy track. I haven’t closely followed Niel’s solo releases. But “She” is such a great track that perfectly suits Niel’s vocals. Plus his natural charisma effortlessly expresses the song’s bittersweet lyrics of longing. The rest of the tracks on the album are of similar soulful vibes and an easy, satisfying listen. My favorite might be the midtempo rock-powered “What’s the Excuse for Love?”
