GMA Network/Viu’s Slay – Episodes 25-28 Thoughts

Thank goodness this week exists! Definitely a step up over the last week or two for the Viu versions of Slay. While this week diined the Slaydies with their little revenge plots against Zach, including the legitimately awesome final reveal of the week, it’s still up in the air who’s the real killer. But as that will of course be saved for the final week, this week’s episodes had all the fun stuff that gets us through the weeks until then!

Let’s go episode by episode first. Episode 25 picks up with our introduction to Inspector Georgia Dimaunahan. (The surnames really are funny on this show. Lol) I must say, sorry Juro bro, but Inspector Georgia is absolutely awesome! She might (most likely) still be wrong about who the true murderer/s is/are. But her investigating at least gets somewhere instead of Juro’s erratic style that makes Kirby’s suggestions seem Sherlock Holmes-ish.

(Is Royce Cabrera on another project now too? That’s why he’s had to exit the show for now?)

Also, who plays Inspector Georgia? She’s great. I admit, I kinda laughed at the eyepatch and the initial first impression last week. But Inspector Always First is definitely badass. And the actress has really stolen all the scenes she’s been in.

She and Nikki Co also have great chemistry. And if the Juro-Kirby spin-off falls through, we can get an Inspector Georgia and Kirby series instead! Prime Suspect-style. Hehe.

Elsewhere, Gabbi Garcia is back from the PBB house so that means Amelie can come back onto the canvas. And that allows the family kabit drama to go full speed ahead.

I am guessing this all will go hand in hand with the eventual reveal that Marga also has an illegitimate daughter (Sugar lol) and perhaps even a relationship with Byron. Which of course will make her out to be the biggest hypocrite and thus bring about her deserved karma.

But how about the line from Marga to Hector: “I will kill you first before I let you go.” Aha! So you like killing people eh?! lol

This was a pretty full episode because it also included Liv calling the Squad Slaydies to the VIP room at the gym. First off, it was a bit hilarious seeing Liv looking like she was presiding over a meeting of the mob.

It was very fun seeing the Slaydies snapping at each other in that “VIP room”. (A VIP room at the gym though? Sketchy! Lol) I wish we saw more fighting and drink throwing and all that. But it was alright. I agree with Yana. I would regret ever meeting them too. Lol

The scene also gave me the explanation for why Amelie replaced the body oil with tea tree oil. She just wanted Zach’s skin to be ruined. Lol Okay sure.

Moving into Episode 26, Inspector Georgia has gotten a recording of their convo in the VIP room where the Slaydies admit to doing all those things with the lighter, fireworks powder and tea tree oil. But of course, none of that actually means they killed Zach. But it certainly supports the theory that they are responsible.

It wasn’t a surprise that Inspector Georgia bugged the room and that it wasn’t Liv being a traitor. But I think the three Slaydies immediately assuming Liv helps to set up the conflict later in the week.

It’s also funny that instead of insisting on their innocence, they only keep repeating that they won’t betray each other. Lol That seems more suspicious actually. What is there to hide? Lol I still don’t think any of the Slaydies did it. But they’re digging themselves deeper, that’s for sure.

That said, it’s quite a slight indictment on the Philippine justice system not being on the up and up. I think it was Yana’s father who said “Walang mayaman na makukulong.” You know that’s right! Lol Which is actually not that funny. It’s quite sad and infuriating. But still… lol

The real highlight of Episode 26 though was Mama Leona finally giving Tita Marga what she deserves. I was cheering for Leona finally getting a backbone and not just taking Marga’s nonsense. This was the scene we were all waiting for after Leona wanted to act too much like a martyr all the time. Let’s be palaban y’all!

And I was clapping right along with the exhibit crowd too. That was a fun, pleasant surprise. But they did muffle the applause with the noise reduction stuff which was too bad.

Episode 27 focused on Inspector Georgia’s offer to Yana to diin her other two friends.

I think it was either Marga or Sugar’s father who tried to run Yana over. It could be either one. And for the sake for more drama, I think Sugar’s father is the better culprit. Tita Marga will have more than enough crime and sins to warrant her punishment later on lol

Yana eventually provides the statement that diins her, Sugar and Amelie as Zach’s killer. And the three of them are arrested.

Episode 28 deals with the fallout of their arrest.

First of all, I’m surprised Atty. Rivero has not just quit her job yet. I don’t know how she can deal with these people any longer lol I hope they are really paying her well! lol

The scene of the Slaydies fighting in jail was fun. That’s the kind of physicality I wanted to see in that VIP room in Episode 25. I’m also glad they didn’t go the cliché route of having the other imprisoned ladies attacking them or abusing them. They just enjoyed the show instead lol

That poop-stained bowl though was truly gross lol

Also enjoy seeing the Slaydies still not on good terms with each other. Amelie talking back to her mother and snapping at Liv was good drama.

The two big developments in this episode though were Sugar seeing Amelie wearing the same bracelet as Kuya Byron’s sugar mommy girlfriend and the eye drop reveal at the end.

First with the bracelet. I still think it might be Tita Marga’s and she is the sugar mommy. But we’ll see. They can do a lot with Amelie actually being Byron’s girl too.

But the final scene of the episode. First, I’m kinda of sad Zach had no steroids in his body. Lol We want to make Zach as horrible possible. Not redeem him! lol

But the reveal of Liv having the eye drops that Zach drank was an excellent way to end the week. And maybe one of the best end-of-week cliffhangers so far.

I don’t get it though. He died because he was burned alive? Or he could have survived had he not drank eye drops before the incident? Lol For all we know, someone could’ve actually finished him off in the hospital!

The preview at the end of the episode seemed to add more fuel to the Byron-Mommy Marga idea as Jigger returns to the scene. So we’ll see!

Overall, a much more interesting and enjoyable week this week with Episodes 25 through 28. I believe we still have three weeks to go? 12 episodes left? So hopefully the pace picks up even more for a great finale.
