Catching up on some new releases I wish I listened to sooner! Featuring Yeji, ONE OR EIGHT, Fantasy Boys
“Air” by Yeji
I’m sad that I’m a few weeks late. But it is certainly well worth the wait for me as my ITZY bias releases her first solo album! Yeji’s Air is an excellent showcase of her talent and charisma. Each of the four tracks, aside from each being good songs to begin with, allow Yeji to really express her individuality and personal sound and style. She is known as an exceptional overall performer. And this album very much shows that. The title track of the same name is an excellent synth-infused pop-dance track and a sure attention grabber for someone who has already captivated so many. Myself included! So happy to see her with this opportunity!
“DSTM” by ONE OR EIGHT
^That was my exact reaction when I watched “DSTM” by ONE OR EIGHT the first time! I definitely did not expect it. But I definitely enjoyed it a lot. I’ve had ONE OR EIGHT in my queue for a while as I have “Don’t Tell Nobody” on my list, but for some reason I never actually sat down and checked them out. But everything about “DSTM”, from the Michael Jackson and Rihanna samples to the swagger in the original verses and their charismatic performance, this is definitely an amazing introduction to the group for me.
After “DSTM”, I had to finally go and check out “Don’t Tell Nobody”. And WOWOW! Why did I not check them out sooner?! Their debut track is amazing as well. And I am definitely going to be following them from now on! These two songs and performances really has me excited to see more from them and learn more about them too!
“Undeniable” by Fantasy Boys
Fantasy Boys are finally back with some fresh music in Korea. And “Undeniable” is definitely a bit of an unexpected track from them. The more mature dance track is a departure from their bright, youthful vibes of their releases so far. But it’s good to see the group growing and evolving their sound. The other two songs on the album of the same name are good as well and also show the group’s growth.
