Saturday Sounds, March 1, 2025 – 1st.One, AJAA, SB19

It’s a Filipino Saturday with fresh music from 1st.One, AJAA, SB19

“Wala Ng Iba (Soul Version)” by 1st.One

The best thing about 1st.One releasing a “Soul Version” of “Wala Ng Iba” is that I can absolutely include the song on my year-end favorites list. I was unsure about being able to since the song had been released in 2024. Though that didn’t stop me from including the 2023-released “Dito” in my 2024 list. Hehe.

But anyway, this soulful version of the track they released in December takes the warm, cheerful feelings of the pop track into a more emotional and romantic harana vibe. And the group delivers yet another excellent performance. I am so excited to see and hear what the group has in store this year! And this is definitely a great start.

“Dedma” by AJAA

Finally we are treated with some fresh music from AJAA. And the bright “Dedma” follows in the footsteps of their previous two title tracks and their overall youthful, playful vibe. Though I’m not as instantly drawn to the track as I was with “Hany” and “Bes I Luv U”, “Dedma” is nonetheless a solid track and another good performance from the talented group. I think I was more affected by the surprise little twist at the end of the music video. (lol) But there’s no denying AJAA are talented performers.

(Cornerstone! Let’s pick up the promo with them please!)

“DAM” by SB19

I’ll leave the profound interpretations of the song and especially music video to those with far bigger minds than I have. lol The song may, honestly, not be my cup of tea. But SB19s’ “DAM” shows how undeniable their talent and artistry is. And it is a testament to their hard work and effort to help usher in this current P-pop wave.
