Great new tracks from OnlyOneOf, Boyfriend, ONE PACT, EVNNE, ALL(H)OURS.
“Stay” by OnlyOneOf
OnlyOneOf releases the special digital single “Stay” after member Rie enlisted last month. So it will be the last full member release in a while. Which is probably why the song is even more emotional that it already is. Its rock-infused melody also offers up a refreshing change of pace for the group who always deliver eye-catching and attention-grabbing performances. This mellower and meaningful performance conveys the sincere message of the song. And the music video featuring memories of the group from the past years since debut certainly have an emotional and nostalgic feel.
“Time Limit” by Boyfriend
It was a pleasant surprise when a TikTok account going by the name “Boyfriend” popped up on my FYP and I noticed the guys in the video looked very familiar. Sure enough, it really was the members of Boyfriend. And after confirming the account was new and with new videos, I soon found out that after promoting as “BF” the last few years, the group have regained the use of their original name and are back with new music ahead of their 14th anniversary and a Japanese tour. “Time Limit” is a great song that features the group’s familiar vocals with the nostalgic melody. And if you haven’t been following the group the last few years as BF, you should definitely check out their releases, especially the excellent “Finale”. And “Time Limit” very much fits in well with their current, more mature sound and style. Very happy to see them embarking on a fresh, though familiar start!
“100!” by ONE PACT
Great to have OT5 ONE PACT with the release of their new album Pink Crush. “100!” is an amazing title track. A feel-good retro vibe makes it such an easy song to enjoy. The album’s seven tracks are a diverse mix of songs with my favorites, aside from “100!” being “B2U”, “Confession”, and “Never Stop”.
“Hot Mess” by EVNNE
EVNNE return with their latest album and title track of the same name. “Hot Mess” is a fun pop-rock track with an addictive melody and bright energy. It’s a great follow up to their last release “Badder Love,” one of my favorites of 2024. The other five tracks of this album are really good as well. My favorites might be “Love Like That” and “Youth”. Great album from EVNNE!
“Gimme Gimme” by ALL(H)OURS
I enjoyed ALL(H)OURS’ pre-release track “Graffit” last month. And the title track “Gimme Gimme” follows suit. It’s an energetic and catchy dance track and the three other new tracks on the album showcase the group’s charismatic and confident sound and style. A solid release!
