Recap: The Traitors US 3, Episode 8 – “A B**** Is Lying”

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

The condemned players stand at the altar awaiting either Alan (to signify their safety) or will face the Traitors and be murdered.

Next morning, Danielle and Britney are first to walk into the dining room. Britney tells us that she wants to put her full trust into her.

After Sam, Ciara and Ivar walk in, they talk about Rob. And Sam says Rob was actually playing a good game, but stays the Traitors are not as smart as they think they are. He believes his strength in this game is listening. Yet, he has wrong intuition. Lol

Gabby walks in next and then Tom who describes seeing Alan’s shoes and being relieved he was safe. Sam says that’s interesting because the Traitor wouldn’t know what Alan was wearing like they would.

Carolyn walks in next and they ask her what Alan was wearing. She stutters at first and then Tom butts in to describe his outfit, much to everyone’s disbelief.

Gabby jokes that Carolyn is on the line of pass or fail, but she’s passed their test.

Dolores walks in next and then Dylan.

That means Chrishell was murdered by Danielle and Carolyn last night.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

The Traitors hand Chrishell the letter and she asks why. Carolyn says she was an ultimate faithful who would never be banished. Danielle says “what’s done is done” and they walk away.

Chrishell tells us she wasn’t shocked to see Danielle, but she did not expect Carolyn and believes she’s playing the best game.

Tom says Chrishell never speaks up until the vote obviously goes in one direction and it pisses him off that she’s just a floater, essentially. Ciara says you could say the same about Britney, but Tom says Britney puts herself out there more.

Recap: The Traitors US 3, Episode 8 – “If I farted, only dogs would hear it.”

Tom prays to the Stag god for answers and when in a group, he asks Carolyn what happened between her and Danielle the other day. Carolyn explains about Britney coming to her with the name throwing allegations. She us that she doesn’t want to throw Danielle under the bus, but also isn’t going to dodge questions about it either.

Meanwhile, Sam brings up the idea of the coffin theory again and he and Britney are very sure that Ciara is another Traitor.

Ciara, meanwhile, tells Gabby that Danielle and Britney have Traitor qualities. Their “we don’t play games” shtick is not flying anymore. And she believes they should be separated.

Later, Alan explains today’s challenge. The players will be split up with half (Team Dolls) going with Alan and the other half (Team Castle) staying at the castle. Only the players who go with Alan will have a chance to win a Shield.

The players do rock paper scissors to decide the teams. Danielle wants to make sure Carolyn does not know who has the Shield because she wants to protect Britney.

For today’s challenge, Team Dolls will accompany Alan to his Dolls House in the woods. They must search amongst dozens of dolls to find ones singing nursery rhymes backwards. They must then sing those backwards tunes to Team Castle over the phone and they will have to record themselves singing it the same way and then play it back to figure out the title of the nursery rhyme. Each correct title will bank them $5000.

Alan tells Team Dolls that one of the dolls has a Shield.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

He begins the 30 minutes and Team Dolls search the many dolls. One of the dolls tells Ciara that the Shield is in Bear.

Tom says he’s the only person musically inclined in the whole castle, so he takes it upon himself to do the challenge. He sings the doll’s backwards rhyme and Team Castle goes to the gramophone to record it, but it appears to be nothing. They call back and ask for another one.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

Tom gives them one and they figure out it is “Row Row Row Your Boat”. Alan tells them they’re correct. The next correct ones are “The Muffin Man” and “Three Blind Mice”.

With a few minutes left, Ciara finds Bear outside the cabin and takes the Shield.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

The last rhyme is “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and we are to believe they got it with only two seconds left. Probably more time than that lol

Everyone celebrates. Alan informs Team Castle that a Shield was in fact claimed.

Ciara’s message to the Traitors is: “Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.” And she believes Britney is the most Traitor-like. In the other car back to the Castle, Ivar tells Danielle that the plan is to go after Ciara tonight.

During dinner, Sam tells Carolyn and Gabby that he is convinced Ciara is a Traitor who put herself in the coffin. Gabby says they should not avoid looking at Danielle and Britney though. Carolyn prefers Britney get banished over Ciara so that would force Danielle to be more loyal to her.

Dylan tells Dolores that because Derrick suspected Britney, then he must have been right.

omg lol

Carolyn takes Ciara aside and warns her about others talking about the Coffin Theory. Ciara mentions her suspicions of Britney and Danielle, especially Danielle’s “crying and shaking”.

“The Big Brother alliance is annoying,” Ciara says. I agree! Lolol

Ciara remembers Jeremy was murdered after suspecting Danielle.

Britney, meanwhile, tells Danielle that Ciara is the most obvious Traitor.

Ciara joins Sam, Ivar and Dolores in the kitchen right after they agreed Ciara would be tonight’s target. She tells them about her suspicions of Danielle regarding Jeremy’s murder. Dolores brings up Britney’s name as well. But Ciara is ready to go to battle tonight.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

It’s time for the Roundtable.

“Lord help us all. And I believe in the Lord,” Ciara says.

Ciara speaks up first. She says there were no Traitors in the coffins that night. Ivar says there are a lot of little issues including the remaining Traitors most likely being girls. Tom says that statistically, women are better “cheaters”, eliciting a huge reaction from the women and he corrects himself by saying he meant “Traitors” instead.

Sam brings the discussion back to the Coffin Theory. Britney brings up how Ciara was the only other vote for her last night along with Rob. And Ciara says it’s because Britney has skated by and if anyone has the capability to be a Traitor, it would be her. Britney rolls her eyes.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

Ciara says after two outspoken traitors like Bob Queen and Rob, it makes sense for the other Traitors to be less so. Britney says laying low is more faithful behavior than Traitor behavior.

Ciara then brings up Jeremy’s murder and Danielle being the last person coming out of his mouth. Danielle says she voted for Rob twice and most of the murdered people were ones she was close with.

Tom takes a turn and says Ciara saying “Fuck you Traitors” is a red flag. Sam says that must have been a premeditated act to try and throw them off by acting like a badass. Ciara says she doesn’t have to try and act like a badass, that’s just how she is normally.

Ivar says it only makes sense that Bob Queen and Rob would want a Traitor in the coffin and they forced Ciara to be the one. Ciara says that’s bullshit and says no one would ever convince her to put herself in a coffin, especially not “Bob the fucking drag queen or Rob”.

That was actually really disrespectful toward Ciara, implying that the two men would easily force what they wanted on her.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

Ciara says she is her own person and no one is going to tell her what to do. She tells them they’re going to be lost once she stands on the Circle of Truth and reveals she is a Faithful.

Alan stops the discussion and they vote.

Dylan, Carolyn, Sam and Ivar vote Ciara saying this is the only way to close the Coffin Theory. Dolores votes for Ciara only because her vote would not have saved her.

Everyone else votes for Ciara and she is upset that her being in fight mode has translated into being guilty to the other players. Ciara draws motivation from her mother who didn’t have a lot of help. She’s gotten everything she’s ever wanted because she stuck to her guns.

“She didn’t raise a weak bitch.”

Ciara votes for “Brittany”, who laughs at her.

Oh, that’s it. Bye Britney!

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

Ciara steps on the Circle of Truth and says she will always go down fighting even against the Traitors. After she reveals she is a Faithful, Britney and Gabby open their mouths wide open in shock. Dolores says that’s crazy. Sam admits they messed that one up.

Alan scolds the players for being idiots and leaves.

Gabby says she feels awful. You voted for her! And she thinks she’s going to suffer the same fate tomorrow.

Tom says she didn’t think Ciara was a Traitor but says Sam’s argument was too strong. He didn’t even argue anything. Dylan says the worst part is people at the Roundtable saying “I don’t think you are, but we have to do it”. When in reality, they actually don’t. Tom says they would still be wondering about the Coffin Theory even if he doesn’t think it was her.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

Later, Tom tells Carolyn and Gabby that Ciara did not have the Shield. He believes the best move is to keep that information hidden from Team Castle.

Dylan, Sam and Ivar talk in the hidden room. Dylan says they are sure the remaining Traitors are women. So that means it’s either Sam or Dylan murdered tonight.

Carolyn and Danielle are talking in the library. Dylan hears them and walks out. He takes a seat with them and says he can leave if they want to be alone. They say it’s just suspicious of them hiding in the room.

Dylan is suspicious of Gabby and also Britney and Danielle. And while he has been close with Danielle, he is starting to think her shaking all the time might just be an act. So he can’t ignore the clues around her.

That night, Alan comes in the Turret to tell Danielle and Carolyn can murder someone or recruit another Traitor.

After Alan leaves, Danielle thinks they need to seduce more people to keep them safe. Carolyn thinks they need to murder because they do not need anyone else in the Turret. Danielle brings up the suspicions about the women. Carolyn understands that and says with Dolores absolutely not being a good Traitor pick, the choice comes down to Britney or Gabby.

Carolyn says she would prefer Gabby and Danielle can’t believe it. She says Britney is game savvy. But Carolyn says it would make no sense and be stupid for her to allow Danielle’s “bestie” here. Danielle asks if Carolyn is worried they would team up against her and Carolyn says “Absolutely!”

Danielle says the goal is for them to win together. Carolyn just laughs.

The Traitors US Season 3 Episode 8 Recap Review

“Do you think I’m stupid?” Carolyn tells us. Of course she would not allow Britney in the Turret since it would only benefit Danielle.

Danielle begs Carolyn, says “sisterhood” and they would split the money in the end. Carolyn is not budging.

Episode Thoughts

Omg not Kate again.

Lol anyway, we’ll deal with her next week. But for this week, I was quite sad.

First, I was actually really sad for Chrishell. She was not a good player, obviously. Which made her a solid murder choice. But I still felt bad for her, if only because she isn’t as annoying as certain other people left.

Also, Carolyn and Danielle’s lines were probably the cheesiest I’ve heard on The Traitors so far. The way they delivered the lines felt so obviously fake, I cringed. And it made me even more sad for Chrishell afterwards. Now have them say those lines to Dolores, I would have loved to hear Dolores’ comebacks lol

Then of course Ciara’s banishment. Definitely one of the saddest Banishments I’ve ever seen on three seasons of The Traitors. I don’t know. I always like rooting for the underdog. And the way Ciara has been wrongly targeted this whole time all because of the stupid Coffin Theory has made me like her. It’s also great to have someone like her that’s a fighter and won’t back down. I agree with her that it sucks how people take that fighting spirit as being guilty.

Ciara and that, honestly, absolutely stupid Coffin Theory is all because of how dumb the Faithful are. The two Traitors they got out were the most obvious. And the next most obvious, Danielle, seems to slip under the radar only because it’s someone like Tom who brings it up and they all dismiss him as an idiot.

One of the more annoying things for me while watching The Traitors is when the Faithful are so sure about who they suspect and then act all pretentious about it. I know they’re playing up to the camera and they don’t actually know. But there are people like Derrick who try to justify their suspicions on their own greatness. And then others who are so sure, yet have the flimsiest arguments. Yet the herd mentality kicks in and then they feel bad afterwards? Come on.

That’s why I really liked Dylan saying they don’t actually have to vote that way.

I guess though it’s a damned if you, damned if you don’t situation. They were using some players’ not speaking up as a justification for suspicion on them. Then people like Ciara who are outspoken are also suspicious too. So they basically just decide on using that argument for whichever they want to target next and everyone else just goes along.

Finally, I really hope Carolyn sticks to her guns and refuses to recruit. Danielle looked, honestly, so pathetic begging her to recruit Britney. While it would be a good move in general, it is absolutely the wrong move for Carolyn. And I would stop rooting for Carolyn if she lets Danielle recruit Britney. It is of no benefit to her. And if she lets Britney in, then it would just be her securing her banishment.

Carolyn has every reason not to trust Danielle. And she has to know Danielle’s name is on many people’s mouths too. So it would really be self-sabotage if she lets Danielle get her way.

Right now, what I hope is they murder Sam. Dylan stays so he can help the argument against Danielle at the Roundtable and she gets banished. I don’t know if Carolyn will get a chance to recruit at that point. But then she’d be in the driver’s seat with no one suspecting her. And that would be great.
