In the Penultimate Leg, the Final Three must use their best skills while also needing a bit of luck while experiencing the dynamic culture and history of the Osaka. All to avoid a potential Non-Elimination Penalty in the Final Leg.

The Final Three begin the Leg atop the Umeda Sky Building at 4pm. Betong & Maey miss the first train to Nipponbashi, allowing Nina & Calvin and Olivia & Chandler to build an initial 20 minute lead.

But Betong & Maey make up some time at the gashapons where they and Nina & Calvin only need one coin refill while Olivia & Chandler need two. And thus incurring a 20 minute penalty.

Betong & Maey, however, fall behind as they have trouble finding C-Labo. But they move into the lead when they are able to find their cards first. None of the teams decide to trade cards, instead leaving the cards they already have in the cases. Nina & Calvin, who had been leading upon arrival in Den-Den Town are now in last place, though only ten minutes behind Betong & Maey.

Olivia & Chandler arrive in Dotonbori and begin the Detour first. But in choosing Bite Down, they struggle with identifying the ingredients. Though they consider switching, they decide against it. Betong & Maey and Nina & Calvin move ahead after quickly finishing the Batter Up side of the Detour.

Betong & Maey continue to have trouble finding the Route Markers, costing them precious minutes. Teams remain close together though and Betong & Maey move back into first place after finishing their puzzle. Nina & Calvin are close behind.

However, both Betong & Maey and Nina & Calvin have trouble figuring out where to bring their puzzle. That allows Olivia & Chandler, who get the crucial clue from locals pointing them to the actual Glico Man, to arrive just a minute behind Nina & Calvin.

Using taxis, traffic has all three teams arriving at Osaka Castle at the same time. They follow each other to the illuminated garden. Teams get tripped up with trying to identify country flags. But Olivia & Chandler are able to get all their cards placed first. They depart for the Pit Stop with Betong & Maey just five minutes behind Nina & Calvin who are ten minutes behind the sisters.

It’s now a taxi race to the Pit Stop. And traffic again slows down teams. That allows Betong & Maey to go from worst to first, winning their third Leg of the Race. Olivia & Chandler have to settle for another 2nd place finish. That means Nina & Calvin are last. And their Non-Elimination Penalty envelope reveals a Self Yield.
