Kenzo thanks Nyelv-kun for the gift since he hasn’t been able to get much from Hanto. But he asks what’s up for Nyelv to make a visit. Nyelv says that with the red Gavv continuing to evolve, them researches need to keep up. So he suggests they share their findings with each other.
Over at Hapipare, Sachika tells Umasho that it’s time for them to go. But Shoma has a question about The Gift of the Magi and the fact that the couple’s gifts to each other ended up being a waste in the end. Sachika says the couple ended up showing each other what was most important: their care for each other. Shoma immediately understands.
Shoma asks if there’s anything Sachika would like as a present. But she suggests Shoma get Hanty a gift instead since they’ve become so close.
Speaking of, Hanty ends up running into the two of them as they work at a Christmas raffle. Sachika tells Shoma that this is his chance. So Shoma gives Hanto a new Gochizo as a gift. But Shoma immediately thinks it lacks thought and care.
With customers lining up, Sachika asks Hanty to help out.
Nearby, Granute Stinger Rojoe has his request for drugs Treats payment rejected by an Agent who says he will not receive anymore if he doesn’t either raise the quality or the quantity of his Presses.
Granute Rojoe spots Shoma and Hanto and has an idea.
After the rush has died down at the raffle, Hanto prepares to leave. But Shoma spots the Granute who has set up a busking spot right in the middle of the market. They wonder why he would do such a thing. But once Rojoe sees them, he runs way looking scared.
Shoma and Hanto run after him just as another wave of customers overwhelms Sachika.
After the two split up, the Granute decides to follow Shoma.
Elsewhere, Jiip is mourning Siita’s death while an Agent is just informing Lango and Glotta of what’s happened. Lango says Siita was always an idiot, though Glotta says Nyelv was a meanie for not helping them out more.
In his lab, Nyelv is thankful for Siita’s sacrifice since it allows him to observe the Red Gavv’s growth.
Nyelv recalls Kenzo introducing him to milk pudding, chocolate bars and other treats which Red Gavv has been able to draw power from. It is also what Kenzo has based his Valen System on as well.
Nyelv begins his experiment and uses milk pudding first.
Back in Tokyo, Rojoe makes himself known to Shoma who quickly henshins and gives him the ultimatum. Which, surprisingly to Shoma, Rojoe heeds immediately. He wishes to give up Dark Treats and leave his part-time gig with Stomach Inc.
Rojoe explains that he’s been working 20 years for Stomach Inc and he gets Dark Treats to hunt humans. He says he didn’t think much of it at first. That offends Shoma. But Rojoe says he knows he has done wrong. That’s why he wants to leave Stomach Inc.
Rojoe gets on his knees in front of Shoma and begs to allow him to repent. He promises not to attack another human or touch Dark Treats ever again as long as Shoma can give him a chance.
Just then, Hanto comes running and shoots at Rojoe, driving him away
Back at Hapipare, Shoma explains what happened. But Hanto does not believe any of it. Shoma wonders if there are really Granutes out there who are Pressing just because of orders from the top.
Hanto says they lost their mums to guys like the Granute and asks Shoma how he could possibly forgive someone like that. Shoma says he does not, but he wonders that if the ones at the top are truly at fault, then maybe those below could still learn and change for the better.
Hanto still does not believe that is possible. Shoma asks Hanto if he could trust a Granute who had nothing to do with Dark Treats. Hanto says absolutely not. He has vowed to kill every single one of the Granutes.
Sachika arrives, exhausted from the long day. She invites Hanto to their Christmas party, but he says no thanks as he leaves.
Elsewhere this evening, Rojoe finds Jiip
Next day, a man in a black hat enters a courtroom. This man is Lage 9, the Granute that was recently modified by Nyelv after being brought to him by Lango. Lango gives Lage 9 the part timer manual to know what to do when collecting Presses.
Nyelv also gives Lage 9 a device that gives him his human form. Lango and Nyelv warn Lage 9 about the two Granute hunters in the human world.
An Agent sends Lage 9 into the human world and he quickly gets to work. He reveals himself to the courtroom and freezes everyone before pressing them all
On the other side of town, Shoma visits Uncle Dente who says a Granute wanting to quit is unlikely since it’s hard to resist the temptation of Dark Treats.
Assuming some did exist, it would be more likely they were disappeared by Stomach Inc rather than disappear on their own.
A Gochizo comes to alert Shoma about the Granute being in danger. He hurries out and finds Rojoe being attacked by two Agents. Shoma quickly henshins, but Rojoe reveals this was a trap. He says he of course wouldn’t give up Dark Treats.
Shoma says he wanted to believe that a Granute who doesn’t attack humans would exist somewhere. But that’s too bad, Shoma says. He uphenshins to Caking and does not hold back against the Granute and Agents.
Hanto arrives and Rojoe is able to leave. Hanto chases after while Shoma deals with Agents. Shoma finishes off his Agents, but wonders why Jiip’s Agents are even here in the first place.
After finding them, Hanto tries to use the Gochizo Shoma gave him but Rojoe swipes it and uses it to force Hanto to dehenshin.
Rojoe steps on Hanto as he falls unconscious
Episode Thoughts
A great episode. Definitely setting up what should be a nice Christmas climax I think. Though the season has done very well with the steady forward momentum. So the story definitely feels like it is moving every week.
I really enjoy seeing how they are playing out Shoma and Hanto’s relationship. And they are exploring that dynamic while also fleshing out each character as well. Shoma with his sincere hope that there are good Granutes out there, for example.
One thing I’ve been meaning to mention is that at first, with Shoma being half-Granute and being imprisoned on some faraway, alien-ish land, I thought he’d be like this extreme fish out of water, naïve, immature dimwit. A loveable goof, I guess you could say. Lolol
Sure, he has no knowledge or experience with delicious human treats. But he’s also not some idiot without feelings or emotions or incapable of understanding basic things. Point being, he’s pretty normal. And that’s something I really appreciate and enjoy. Because the show could’ve easily played up (to an extreme) his fish out of water situation. But they’re doing very well with finding a reasonable and realistic balance.
That makes his interactions with Hanto and Sachika, for example, feel natural. There’s a great sincerity and of course a great endearing quality that really boosts Shoma as a character in a big way.
The scene at Hapipare in the evening where Shoma’s hopes are dashed when Hanto directly says he would never trust a Granute was amazing. Pairing that with Shoma excitedly wanting to find the perfect gift for Hanto earlier in the episode? Another example of Gavv knowing how to deliver maximum impact for big scenes and developments. That, what should be a basic expectation is not always regularly accomplished on either Toei toku series. But Gavv has so far been able to properly build up and support scenes like this so they, again, feel natural and well-earned.
Great to see the scene with Nyelv and Kenzo. Another good establishing development showing that the Siblings may each have their own agenda. While also expanding the world in which you have Granute and Granute-adjacent figures popping up anywhere and everywhere. Thus raising the danger and threat to our heroes at any time.
Speaking of, I am excited to see my favorite Kiramager! When I learned Kohei Shoji was the voice of the Granute, I hoped he’d make a physical appearance on the show too. And it looks like he could stick around for a while! Lage 9 already looks like an interesting character. And it’s great to see Kohei Shoji play a character that is the opposite of the bright, shining and happy Takamichi Crystalia.
I certainly hope he sticks around for a while like Yosuke Kishi. Who similarly is playing a character the opposite of Stinger in Kyuranger too. From broody and angsty to light and goofy. Lol It’s been fun! And again, it’s such a treat (a bright treat! Not Dark. Lol) to see two actors from two Sentai seasons I love pop up on Kamen Rider!
Good little scene with the elder siblings upon learning of Siita’s “death”. (I put in quotation marks because of course we know she’s not totally gone I guess lol) And should be interesting to see what Granute Rojoe and Jiip might have planned.
Finally, are we gonna get Hanto on the verge of death every other episode? Lol I guess it makes sense since he’s a modified human. But still, it’s a bit amusing considering we had this same cliffhanger not too long ago. Hehe.
Overall, another great episode of Gavv.

You can see in next episode preview nyvle was creating a driver and he just did surgery to lage 9 so hopes are high for him becoming teritary rider (although i still wish if it was sachika)
That would be great to see the other siblings also become Riders.
The way shouma was trying to get close to hanto even started to think of giving him present special getting inspired by a ‘romantic’ novel and sachika was like ‘it’s your chance’ was really so sweet and sus good for hanto x shouma shippers and sachika is hanto x shouma shipper too i guess, now that was really a direct move please don’t repeat the same mistake like you did with build vcinema toei please!I am still mad about that
Haha. omg yes. I love Build, but that Vcinema movie was absolutely horrible lol I choose to ignore it lol
Yeah that shit vcinema completely ruin the ending it doesn’t exist for me sento and banjou are already married in my dreams
Glad to see a bunch of Sentai alumni returning in different Toku roles!
My favorite parts of this episode were the dynamic between Shoma and Hanto and the interactions between Nyelv and Kenzo. I love Shoma and Hanto’s contrasting viewpoints on Granutes, with the big irony of course being that Hanto’s unaware he’s been fighting alongside a Granute this whole time. I really kinda hope Shoma’s NOT the Wolf Granute and instead is just “linked” to him somehow via whatever Dente did to modify him. The drama of Hanto discovering that Shoma’s a Granute who’s the Stomach Siblings’ little brother in and of itself should be sufficient, I think. That would also work swimmingly in giving that mysterious Wolf Granute a connection to Shoma too.
And it’s quite amusing seeing Kenzo interact with Nyelv so casually. There’s pretty much no difference there than in how he interacts with Hanto. He seems like he’s gonna be a fun villain going forward, and I’m looking forward to seeing his eventual interactions with Shoma, Lango, Jiip, and Glotta as well. At this point, it definitely seems like Kenzo’s playing both sides with a grand plan in mind, and a dysfunctional family like the Stomach Siblings is BEGGING to be manipulated. I think the only “hint” we have toward Kenzo’s real motive is the one instance so far where he showed anger, which was when Shoma fled from him and Hanto after encountering them for the first time. A pissed-off Kenzo blamed Hanto, saying “I finally found one and you ruined it!”
Also, it’s pretty much been confirmed that Kenzo was the inventor Nyelv was talking about back during Hanto’s debut as a Rider, the one who invented the human disguises and compression technology. Which is kinda peculiar, considering that Kenzo’s a smart guy and should know that the Hitopress technology can be easily turned against him by the Granutes. Though there IS that suspicious detail of the Hitopress not working on Granute-human hybrids, which even the Stomach Siblings were shocked by when they tried it on Shoma. Combine that detail with the suspicious scar on Kenzo’s stomach, along with his interest in Shoma, and well…., it should be interesting when he and Shoma officially meet each other.
I don’t think they should make him the Wolf Granute either. Perhaps a different twist would be better.
Kenzo is definitely in a good position to be able to one up the siblings in some way. Especially Nyelv. THough I wouldn’t count out Nyelv either. I think he might even be more dangerous than either Lango or Glotta since he’s involved with the actual powers and stuff whereas Lango might just be a boss who orders everyone around and Glotta is just a great fighter maybe. Nyelv could be all of the above!
Fun fact: in Kyuranger, Stinger was fooled by Scorpio, and this time, his actor played a Granute who fooled Shoma (although the latter was still on his guard somehow). The relationship between Nylev and Soga is intriguing and the new Granute has some Undertaker vibes in his human disguise. 🙂
And in gaim takatora (played by scorpio’s actor) was fooled or more like betrayed by his friends and brothers now waiting for shouma to appear in sentai to fool others LoL
I haven’t seen Gaim yet.
You should that’s one of the best rider season
Our Sentai vets are doing great as guest characters on Gavv!
