Shoma visits Uncle Dente to talk about Hanto and Valen. He asks if humans would be capable of handling these kinds of powers and Uncle Dente says it shouldn’t be possible. Shoma’s unique powers come from having both human and Granute qualities. So it is possible Valen most likely underwent surgery with the intention of incorporating Granute traits.
Uncle Dente says it should be possible in theory, but he has doubts as to whether a human would come up with such an idea. Meaning, a Granute must have been the one who modified him. Shoma says he doesn’t think so since he knows Hanto hates Granutes and would never work with one.
Shoma also tells Uncle Dente about the sharp pain he felt after seeing the photo of Hanto’s mom. Uncle Dente says Shoma may be missing memories here and there.
Later at Hapipare, Sachika shows Shoma the Christmas cake she’s baked. She says she tried a new recipe for the upcoming Christmas party for the neighborhood kids.
Shoma takes a bite and he of course thinks it’s delicious. He’s heard of cakes before, but has never tried one.
Shoma flashes back to watching his siblings celebrating the twins’ birthday with cake. But since he was not invited, he can only watch from the window. Afterwards, Shoma approached the twins with a pair of flowers. But they slapped the flowers out of his hands and stepped on them, telling him to get lost.
Shoma tells Sachika that he’s always wanted to try cake and compliments her. She tells him that he could try and make one too. She agrees to teach Shoma tomorrow afternoon and shows her a book from which Shoma can choose what cake to try. As he ends up choosing a strawberry cake, he remembers drawing one as a kid,
Over in the Granute world. Lango brings Granute Lage 9 to Nyelv for some modifications. Afterwards, Glotta tells Lango about the twins running away. But he tells her to let them be since they’re merely after the red Gavv. While they are let loose, Lango can focus on his own plans.
In town, Hanto wonders if he should publish what he’s found about Granutes or not. But he hears everyone in the café talking about the Kamen Riders already. He looks through Twitter to see someone tweeting about their friend going missing.
Hanto calls Shoma to tell him about it, but he’ll investigate on his own for now and will update him later.
At the grocery store with Sachika, Shoma asks the Gochizos to help look for the missing man for now.
Shoma and Sachika head back to Hapipare and get started with the baking. Though Shoma has some trouble mixing the ingredients at first.
Sachika says she likes to think about the faces of those she makes cakes for. It reminds her to take care in baking these cakes so as to ensure being able to brighten these people’s days.
Later, Shoma places the cake in the oven. Sachika leaves for a job watching Hiroto-san’s house and Shoma assures her he will be fine. Sachika hopes to try the cakea when she comes back.
In the park, Stinger a musician Granute is frustrated with the higher ups demanding more premium Presses. But the musician says he usually makes up for quality with quantity.
Hanto asks around about the missing musician, which this Granute already has as a Press.
Shoma takes his cake out of the oven and decorates it. He thanks the Gochizo for helping him with his successful cake. But the Gochizo from earlier arrives to report to Shoma about what they’ve found.
Hanto finds the musician Granute at the park. And the Granute immediately reveals his Stomach. Hanto henshins and they battle. Shoma arrives after getting the heads up from the Gochizo. But an Agent appears and shoots at Shoma. Shoma tells Hanto to take care of things here while he chases after the Agent.
Hanto and the Granute battle while listening to the music of Yosuke Kishi. Hanto is able to grab the Presses this Granute has already collected. The Granute says it was much simpler before when they just kidnapped humans en masse. Hearing that this Granute has been collecting people for 20 years, Hanto shows him a drawing of the wolf Granute who killed his mother and asks if he knows of it. But the Granute doesn’t answer and just leaves.
Meanwhile, Shoma finds the Agent at the mountain. He uphenshins to Bushel and finishes it off. But just then, the twins arrive and they vow that they will never be satisfied until they personally bury Shoma in the ground.
The twins get in their Granute forms and they battle Shoma. Shoma asks them what he did for them to hate him so much. The twins blame Shoma for simply existing and that it is his fault they are being separated.
Shoma uphenshins to counter the twins’ attacks. But they are still more powerful than he is. Shoma gets thrown to the ground as the twins approach him. Gochizo try to help, but they just get kicked aside.
Sachika arrives at Hapipare and sees the cake in the fridge, but wonders where Shoma is.
Shoma refuses to give up. Hanto arrives and watches Shoma do what he can. But the twins send an attack and Shoma is forced to dehenshin as he gets thrown over the cliff.
Episode Thoughts
Another good episode! Things continue to be moving quite nicely.
Nice scene at the start of the episode of Shoma discussing things with Uncle Dente. It’s a nice refresher for us the viewer. And it’s a good way to insert some details or highlight certain info we will need. Like how it is possible, but unlikely a mere human could even think about modifying a human with Granute traits. Interesting question to ponder about the situation!
Also fun having Shoma interacting with a family member who doesn’t want him dead lol
Speaking of, I hope we get to see a bit more with the twins and why they resent Shoma so much. That scene from their birthday party was good. Especially as it showed Shoma making an effort to at least connect with his Granute siblings. But it was a good scene to show more of how Shoma lived in the Granute world. Which is, quite miserably.
The scenes of Shoma and his mother was also great, though of course very short and sweet.
Pretty much all our main characters were on-screen today. And it’s great to see as well. Lots for each of them to do. From Sachika and the cakes to Lango’s secret plan; everyone was utilized well today. Really helped to create a dynamic atmosphere too with everyone doing their own thing. Lots of moving parts.
For Shoma, I liked how he was sad and worried about how Hanto would react if he knew he was a Granute. Also, great to see the Gochizos jump in and try to help Shoma, even if it was very futile to begin with.
Elsewhere, some nice Sentai cameos this episode. First, it was great to see Kyuranger’s Yosuke Kishi! And awesome how they are able to incorporate his singing (and his song, I believe!) into the character and story. Very fun!
Also fun is Kiramager’s Kohei Shoji voicing the Granute as well! Hope we can have more crossover guest stars on both shows in the future!
Overall, a very good episode. This was definitely a two-parter story. So let’s see what next week holds!

This season just keeps getting better and better!
Now that I think about it, Shoma being the Wolf Granute that Hanto’s looking for is a bit unlikely. Shoma should have been a baby at the time, and the Wolf Granute was a full grown beast, so Shoma may just be a red herring. There’s another possible explanation that seems more likely: The Wolf Granute, judging from Hanto’s sketch, is probably a Granute-human hybrid with a Red Gavv like Shoma. So maybe Dente used the Wolf Granute as a lab rat and took away his Red Gavv, using it to help modify Shoma. The wolf’s Red Gavv being used to give Shoma the ability to produce minions and become a Kamen Rider may have had the unintended side effect of giving Shoma some of that Granute’s memories. If that’s the case, then Dente is probably a goner once the Wolf Granute tracks him down and takes revenge. And as for WHO the Wolf Granute would actually be in this possible scenario…, well, Kenzo does have a scar on his stomach where a Gavv would be, and he looks like a human despite all other Granutes besides Shoma needing a Gavv to assume human forms. Despite not being in this episode, his presence was certainly “felt” when Dente said that it was highly unlikely that a NORMAL human could devise and implement the idea of modifying a human with Granute parts.
What do you think?
It was also interesting how Glotta was the only one of the Stomach Siblings who cared about the Twins running away. It’d be ironic if the older sibling whom the Twins are scared out of their wits by is the one who cares about them the most. Then again, that may have been hinted at earlier on. Back when the Twins were hiding Shoma’s survival from their older siblings, Glotta was the only one who tried to help them with what she thought the issue was. She also tried to comfort them once they got fired the first time.
I do hope the Twins aren’t killed off or anything next episode; there’s still so much of Shoma’s dynamic with them and his other siblings that can be explored. Instead, I’d prefer if they were just defeated and badly injured by Shoma’s Upgrade Form, taking them out of the “game” for a while. That’ll probably provide some “room” for new villains and characters to officially make their move. Such as Kenzo, of course. And that relatively innocent new recruit Granute who’s likely gonna become the season’s Tertiary Rider.
I agree with your theory shouma was supposed to be a *baby* *locked in granute world* at that time it could probably hint they had the same gavv as that wolf granute gavv was a part of his surgery and dente DID say that a granute most likely did surgery to hanto so the chances are high for suga to be a granute
Oh, that’s an interesting angle with the shared memories. Like the common plot of people inheriting the memories of a heart transplant or something like that.
The different dynamics between the Stomach Sibs really have a lot of potential. With or without Shoma too. But with Shoma, there’s lots of interesting chracter-driven stories as well as we saw an example of this episode.
It does make sense to, I guess, “get it over with” with the twins now and then have them move onto the next stage for them (not killed off, but off to the side a bit) and then do the same with the other siblings potentially.
Last week this week and probably next week too judging by the preview hanto is becoming more and more gayish
lol Toei knows what sells these days. So they will play up the bromance for sure.
About the Wolf Granute, it is interesting to note the singing Granute said by the time, Granutes only captured humans, and not turning them into spices. If Shoma was the Wolf Granute, it means it didn’t kill Hanto’s mother.
Otherwise, it was a good episode, with the ending reminding me of Gotchard 07, with Hotaro falling from the edge…
That’s an interesting point!
