Since their meeting face to face, Ishiro has been in regular contact with Taiya who has sent him on missions including searching for a child’s toy or driving a singer to a concert she was late for. Ishiro thinks Taiya is trying to test him by sending him out on these outrageous missions.
While relaxing in the sauna, Ishiro gets a call from Taiya who says they have a job from the CEO of Lightning Tech. Ishiro heads to the Garage, surprised that Taiya still has more surprises yet.
Anyway, their mission today is to save one of Lighting Tech’s scientists who has been kidnapped. Ishiro has no problem cracking into the security system where the scientist is being held. But there is a problem with figuring out how to get by the robust security unless they just fly in somehow.
Taiya says that definitely can be done. Ishiro thinks he’s just trying to be funny. But Taiya has Ishiro hop into the car and they drive to the location, saying flying is quite bakuage.
Ishiro is taken aback and annoyed when Taiya starts calling him “Shashiro” which Taiya and BunBun agree is an awesome name. Ishiro disagrees and repeatedly tells Taiya to call him by his real name.
Just then, Shashiro is shocked when Taiya launches his car into the sky and down off the bridge right into the middle of the shipping containers where the scientist is being held. The security kicks into gear and chases after Taiya and Shashiro.
As Taiya weaves them through the shipping containers with the security detail shooting bazookas at them, Shashiro asks what their Plan B is. Taiya thought Shashiro would come up with one. Shashiro thinks and he’s got an idea.
Shashiro asks Taiya to get him to a higher position. No problem, Taiya says. He balances the car on its two right wheels, getting Shashiro into perfect position.
Shashiro shoots directly at the barrel of the bazooka, creating a huge explosion behind them. This allows them the opportunity to save the scientist who they then deliver back to Lightning Tech.
Shashiro tells Taiya this isn’t the best way to earn a living considering they’re doing these jobs for free. Taiya says he can’t ignore someone crying for help.
“You really are an odd one,” Shashiro says.
“That’s what everyone tells me,” Taiya replies.
Taiya says they already have another job. They have to deliver a lost dog back home. Shashiro says he wouldn’t take job after what happened last time. Taiya asks if he’s bad with dogs or something.
Chapter Thoughts
Another great episode! I mean, chapter. Hehe. So exciting. And another chapter that makes me wish we got this in live action! That chase scene looks so good in the manga. I’d love to see something like it in live action. And again, with Haruhi Iuchi and Yuki Hayama delivering the fun, badass scenes.
It was a good chapter to depict how Taiya and Shashiro’s early days together were like. And of course, how Taiya just forced Ishiro’s nickname on him. lol The moment Shashiro experiences the flying car for the first time was hilarious too.
The manga really captures both Taiya and Shashiro’s personalities, as we see them in-series, so well. Really just a fun read overall! Can’t wait for the next chapter.
Now I’m really upset we don’t get live action adaptation of this. Shashiro naked in the sauna?! Hello?
