The Elite 8 make their way to Taiwan where they Race through the country’s colorful culture. But how will an unexpected pause and an important decision shake up the Race for the teams?

Teams begin the Leg returning to Seoul and being released from Seoul Plaza in the order they reached the Mat in Geosan. They learn they will be flying to Taipei, Taiwan. And the teams secure their own tickets on one of three flights. EVA Air, China Airlines and Scoot. Teams will arrive in Taipei between 9:40pm and 12:25am. But they are equalized when they have to wait for Taipei 101 to open at 9am the next morning.

Using their Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5s, teams must search the city below to find they must make their way to Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. Shamcey & Lloyd move into the lead while the Kapuso alliance of Betong & Maey, Valeen & Chariz and Klea & Katrice stick together along the way.

Shamcey & Lloyd maintain their lead out of the calligraphy task while Betong & Maey are close behind. They leave without their fellow Kapuso teams, annoying both Valeen & Chariz and Klea & Katrice who fall to last.

As teams figure out how to navigate public transportation to get themselves to Ruifang District, they are shocked when air raid sirens begin sounding in the capital city. Today is Taiwan’s annual air raid drill and everyone must take shelter once the sirens sound. Teams must abide by the direction of local authorities and the Race comes to a pause for half an hour. Some teams must shelter in place in underground train stations while others hurry into nearby businesses and public buildings along with the citizens of the city.

After the all clear is sounded, teams can continue Racing. Olivia & Chandler, Inigo & Sebastian, Shamcey & Lloyd and Nina & Calvin arrive at the Golden Waterfall on the first bus while Paolo & Bubbles, Betong & Maey, Valeen & Chariz and Klea & Katrice arrive half an hour later. Betong & Maey notice a bit of tension with the other teams, but decide not to touch the issue while on the Race.

Inigo & Sebastian and Olivia & Chandler choose the Cutting Edge Detour while Shamcey & Lloyd and Nina & Calvin initially choose Center Stage. However, once they see how difficult that side of the Detour is, they quickly switch over to Cutting Edge. The other four teams choose and stick with Center Stage.

Inigo & Sebastian move into the lead from the Detour with Olivia & Chandler 15 minutes behind. Nina & Calvin and Shamcey & Lloyd fall behind after having to switch Detours. But they stay minutes ahead of the trailing teams on the way to the tea house.

There is a one-hour buffer between the first place team (Inigo & Sebastian) and last place team (Paolo & Bubbles). The brothers maintain their lead as they head to the Pit Stop to claim their second win of the Race. Olivia & Chandler have to settle for being runner-up.

Shamcey & Lloyd leave the tea house in 3rd and reach the Pit Stop in 3rd as well. After seeing them leave the Road Block and getting 20 minutes in penalties, Klea & Katrice decide to finally use their Fast Forward Flip upon encouragement from Valeen & Chariz. They are able to step on the Mat as Team #4.

Nina & Calvin make up some time when they don’t get any penalties at the second Road Block. And that is enough to get them to the Pit Stop as Team #5.

It’s now down to three teams. Betong & Maey are the first to leave the tea house with Valeen & Chariz close behind. Still annoyed by Betong & Maey not waiting earlier, Valeen & Chariz decide to go their own way instead of sticking together.

Paolo & Bubbles depart the tea house in last. And it is now a footrace between three more teams. Betong & Maey end up finding the Pit Stop as Team #6. Paolo & Bubbles are then able to just pass Valeen & Chariz to the Mat. The siblings check-in as Team #7.

That means Valeen & Chariz are last. But they are NOT eliminated! They pull out a Self Yield penalty envelop to be administered on the net Leg.
