Great new music from Sungjin, EPEX, Park Jeup, EVNNE, Kino.

“Check Pattern” by Sungjin (DAY6)

DAY6’s trusted and talented leader Sungjin finally releases his first solo album 30 and it is just excellent. The title track “Check Pattern” is a wonderfully nostalgic track with Sungjin passionately expressing the conflicting emotions of the many moments in life. The song itself perfectly builds up to a powerful climax, giving the listener a breathtaking journey throughout.

The other nine tracks on the album are a diverse mix, showcasing Sungjin’s talent and versatility. It’s hard to pick another favorite since every song is amazing. But the closer “Memories” is very impactful. So great to have Sungjin take his place in the spotlight with this album!

“Universe” by EPEX

EPEX’s pre-release track “My Girl” definitely got me excited for their new album. And title track “Universe” is just so good. I really like EPEX’s more mature, but still youthful sound in this Youth series. They have of course delivered some powerful and fierce performances. But this mellower turn very much showcases the group’s growth and versatility. The rest of the album Youth Chapter 2 – Youth Deficiency is great. I really like the retro-infused “1997”, aptly-titled “Wonderful” and rock-infused “Closer.”

“Aftereffect” by Park Jeup

What a wonderful treat from Park Jeup with this remake of ZE:A’s “Aftereffect.” Part of Star Empires special remake project, Jeup gives a fresh reimagining of one of ZE:A’s great songs. His strong and warm vocals breathe new life into the song, making it an emotionally affecting performance. Really great. And always awesome to have fresh music from Jeup as well!

“Keshiki” by EVNNE

The talented rookie group EVNNE make their Japanese debut with the great rock-powered track “Keshiki”. I think it is a perfect song for the Japanese audience as it definitely sounds like something you’d hear on the soundtrack of a nostalgic coming of age film or anime. A youthful track that really suits the group and allows them to show a brighter and refreshing side of themselves.

“Everglow” by Kino

PENTAGON’s Kino releases a fresh solo track in “Everglow”, an energetic rock track that showcases his great versatility. The talented all-rounder delivers a strong performance once again.
