Episode Thoughts

It’s a good episode! The show laid out a great foundation in the first eight episodes. So these last two episodes which took on a more MOTW feel were great and worked very well to put what we’ve learned of this “world” in action.

Of course it was fun to see Shoma and Hanto out in the field together and trying to hide their identities once again. Like I mentioned last episode, I think it was, that dynamic should be fun to watch for a while. Though I don’t know how long they will maintain it. Perhaps until the midseason climax. That would be a good time to reveal themselves to each other.

Especially as shown at the end, their hidden identities can help to develop their friendship and connection. (And yes, bromance too! lol).

Of course, also great to have Sachika involved. Looking forward to seeing them all three out in the field again too.

With the Stomach Sibs, nice little tidbits showing their individual personalities in quick moments. And at the end, a nice tease of Kenzo’s mysterious motives as well.

Elsewhere, it was funny how people did not give any second thought to whole buildings suddenly popping in and out. You’d think that would be a big deal. Lololol

And it would’ve been nice to have more with Hanto and Kirari. Like a nice update about her or something. But they kinda just squeezed her back in at the end there. It’s okay I guess, but it made their story feel rushed or incomplete.

Overall, another good episode. Gavv moving along quite well!

  1. Lots of things to love in this episode and a few intriguing things to come judging by next episode’s preview:
    1. The fun and entertaining way they had Hanto and Shoma team up as themselves without either knowing the other’s second identity. They remind a lot of Sento and Banjo, down to the “heated drama between men.” If the ending to next episode’s preview isn’t a misdirect, then the charade between them may be over sooner rather than later.
    2. Glotta correctly deducing that Nyelv had been hiding Shoma’s survival from them like the Twins had. I’m glad that means Glotta isn’t gonna be a “Dumb Muscle” or anything like that. So far, she seems to be a delightful combination of Clotho and Lachesis from last season.
    3. And of course, that sinister tease with Kenzo at the end. He really is the season’s biggest enigma at the moment. Him remarking that Shoma’s able to evolve because he’s a “Granute at his base” seems to indicate that he also knows that Shoma’s a Granute-human hybrid. And you know, if next episode’s preview showing Hanto being severely injured is any indication, he may soon get the perfect opportunity to achieve his goal of “examining” Shoma and learning how to make Gochizos. He could easily play the part of being Hanto’s caring friend to Shoma who simply wants to help him get stronger to fight Granutes. And then there’s the implication from episode 6 of Kenzo being a Stomach Inc inventor in cahoots with Nyelv. If those two really are working together in some way, then I get the feeling that their little partnership will end with Kenzo screwing Nyelv over mightily. Maybe Nyelv will even end up losing his job at the company like the Twins. Lol.
Elsewhere, I’m definitely interested in seeing where Lango finally making a move against Shoma goes. Something tells me that Lango will end up being Shoma’s primary rival for the season. Oldest vs. Youngest. I’m guessing that, out of the siblings, Lango is the one who hates Shoma the most, probably viewing him and his mother as “stains” on the family name. Maybe he even blames them for their father going “crazy.”

  2. The dynamic between our rider duo is akwardly and stupidly awesome I am loving it how these 2 care about each other without even showing it just like sento and banjou i might end up Shipping them lol

  3. Suga is becoming more and more sus day by day i wouldn’t be surprised if he was that wolf granute who killed hanto’s mother
