Auntie Masako arrives and says she knows what happened with Suetsugu after he finally told her. Auntie Masako apologizes. But Sachika says it was her fault for being too insensitive.

Shoma says Sachika should’ve stood up for herself. Sachika says she almost did. But this has been a trouble for her since she was a kid. She tries to cheer other people up, but they always throw a “You’ve always had it easy, you don’t know what it’s like to be us.” at her.

Sachika acknowledges that perhaps she hasn’t had it as hard as others, so that must be why she cannot understand how others feel. But Auntie Masako says she wouldn’t be this concerned if she didn’t understand. She says she has always loved how Sachika candidly shows her care for others.

Shoma says Sachika was able to cheer him up many times as well, especially when she gave him his tasty diary. Sachika thanks them for the kind words.

Episode Thoughts

A great episode! Really enjoyed getting to see more of our Hapi3 (is that what I’ll be calling them this season? Hehe) together and being out in the field together, fighting the bad guys. The final scene with them is the nice dynamic I look forward to getting lots more of this year.

A great episode for Sachika. We get to know her a little bit more. And I think the simple plot of the episode went a long way in helping to do that. Both her feelings and Suetsugu’s feelings were valid. You understand where both were coming from. But the relatively easy resolution gave us a great insight into who Sachika might and can be, especially for our two candy boys.

Definitely can’t wait until Sachika becomes a Rider too! Though hopefully no surgery involved hehe

Again, I enjoy the dynamic of Shoma and Hanto not knowing each other’s identity. I don’t know how long the show will drag it out, but they can do a lot with it. The little inner monologue moments are creative and those too can offer up some fun as well.

The episode started off big with that awesome battle between Hanto and Glotta. Very badass sister! It’s good how we’re slowly getting to know the siblings. Like seeing the twins a bit cocky and overconfident at first, but them shrinking and timid when with their big brother. I didn’t realize they were the youngest of the siblings. But it makes a lot of sense how they think they’re bigger than they really are. Hope to see more interesting dynamics with the siblings too.

Nice moment with Hanto and Suga-san and that bit of a red herring I suppose. But if Suga is a Granute or halfsie or is able to hide his stomach mouth, perhaps that can help bring about Sachika getting Rider powers too without one or something hehehe

Overall, another great episode of Gavv! The positive feelings continue on an upward trend for me every week!

  1. Kudos to Hanto for being savvy enough to check Kenzo’s stomach for a Gavv once he learned how that all works. Though I think the “reveal” of Kenzo seemingly not having a Gavv is just to lull us into a false sense or security…. Because if you look closely at the brief glimpse we got of his gut, you’ll see that Kenzo has a big ol’ scar on his stomach where a Gavv would be. I think they’re indicating that Kenzo had his Gavv removed from him at one point, against his will for all we know. The scar is rectangular, and as we’ve seen, the regular Part-Timer Granutes’ Gavvs are round and the Stomach Family’s Gavvs are triangular. But Shoma, being part human, has a RECTANGULAR Red Gavv….
There was also another “shady” bit from Kenzo in this episode in how he wasn’t surprised at all that Granutes can disguise themselves as humans. In fact, he seemed to know a lot about how the disguise process worked, to the point of being aware of the one spot that can’t be covered up. All these signs seem to point to him being the unnamed genius inventor Nyelv was talking about who invented the technology for Granutes to disguise themselves as humans and freeze compress them.

Elsewhere, I also liked that Sachika got the spotlight in this two-parter. And yes, I too believe that she’ll be the season’s Tertiary Rider, and I’m looking forward to that since she’s been a great character. Although, I’m thinking she’ll make her Rider Debut a little after the season’s obligatory Dark Rider (more than likely at this point to be the mysterious and shady Kenzo) makes his. Maybe around the same time Supana officially became a Rider last season?

And of course, I can’t forget to talk about Glotta 😍🥰. That pounding she laid on Hanto and having a complete blast while doing it got me swooning. I thought that the mysterious Wolf Granute would be the first one to really beat Hanto into the ground, but I’m sure the season will still “make time” for such an occasion. Lol. On an unrelated note, I honestly couldn’t tell if Glotta patting the Twins on their heads and assuring them that they’ll always be their little siblings was her way of genuinely comforting after they got fired.
And speaking of the Twins, I’m definitely interested to see where this new development with them goes from here. Judging by the preview for next week’s (presumably standalone) Halloween episode, they’re out for Shoma’s head. If anything, this new development is the perfect opportunity for a new villainous player to make his debut, perhaps approaching the Twins and offering to “help” them get their jobs back.

      1. Y’know, it just occurred to me. Say that IS a scar on Kenzo’s gut. If that scar, no matter what shape it is, really is from Kenzo losing his Gavv/having it taken from him, then it’s a GUARANTEE that he’s a hybrid like Shoma. Remember: Shoma, on account of him having a human mother, is the only Granute with a natural human form. The other full-blooded Granutes need to insert a device into their Gavvs to change into a human form. No Gavv = No Human Forms for Regular Granutes.

  2. There’s a rumour about pudding teritary rider and sachika’s empty bubble in the opening is yellow and that yellow paint too i would be surprised if she doesn’t become the teritary rider she is already become my second most relatable character (first is daiji, typical middle child like me)
