The Academy gang are watching YouTuber Tacchan who is leading the online charge against the conspiracy regarding the mysterious monsters called Chemies. Kyoka-san comes in to explain that the black particles that had been floating in the sky restores the memories of anyone they come in contact with. Not only that, the digital footprint of people’s encounters with Malgams and Chemies have been restored as well. Kyoka believes Gaelijah is behind this.
Houtarou says people meeting Chemies wasn’t supposed to happen this way, but he is sure it will all work out and everyone will understand soon
Downtown, Supana watches as people suffer from their restored memories, including their random encounters with Chemies and even fanboying and fangirling over Prince Zukyun.
Later, Houtarou and Rinne are on the way to school when they are stopped by a bunch of thugs demanding they hand over the Chemies so they can have the power of Malgams in their hands. The goons charge at Houtarou who takes them on.
Houtarou says Chemies are not to be used just for power, but that they are living things in their own right. Houtarou kicks the goons over the bridge. But all of a sudden, Goriki (the Golem) pops in and kicks Houtarou to the trash. He is hungry for revenge.
Houtarou henshins to Rainbow and calls on AntWrestler to help. But Gaelijah arrives and quickly turns Goriki into a golem again, saying she is just granting his wish.
Using her powers, Gaelijah is able to see seconds in to the future and can anticipate Houtarou’s every move. This allows her to swipe the VenomDake Card. She inserts it into the head goon and he turns into a Malgam.
Wrestler G and Antrooper power down. Nijigon explains that he can’t infuse them with rainbow power without the whole gang together. Rinne henshins and helps take on the golem and Malgam. But Gaelijah taps Rinne’s hand, saying it is a surprise for her. Atropos watches and smirks.
The Malgam and the golem retreat. Before leaving, Gaelijah warns Houtarou and Rinne that in the midst of this chaos, a precious life will be lost thanks to the Chemies.
Houtarou and Rinne dehenshin. Houtarou vows he will never let that happen.
Rinne spots Atropos and runs after her. This is the first time they are face to face since Atropos’ betrayal. Atropos just wishes Rinne luck. Rinne warns Atropos that she cannot trust Gurion and that she will end up getting hurt. Atropos asks what makes Rinne so sure, especially when she doesn’t know how she feels.
Papa Gurion welcomes Atropos home and he gives her a present. First, he has her change into a nice new little girl’s dress and shoes. And then he gives her an alchemy storybook.
Gurion has a quick flashback to a little girl with Papa Kudoh.
Gurion takes Atropos in his lap and reads the storybook to her.
Back at the Academy, Minato informs everyone that he cannot reach anyone at the Union and he believes the big bosses have run away.
“I told you so,” Supana says. He knows that the more people want to become Malgams, the more people will be hurt. So how can Houtarou still imagine a peaceful world of humans and Chemies together.
Nijigon and Hopper1 are sad that they don’t want to be separated from them. Houtarou assures them that they will work together and find a way to take down those Malgams.
Minato remembers his dear friend Daiki again and reiterates his belief in Houtarou. Sabimaru and Renge also voice their support too.
Just then, Isaac alerts them to Tetchan’s new livestream. Turns out, he has found his way inside the Academy and he barges in with his film crew. Minato tries to usher them out.
Supana realizes Kyoka-san might be in danger so he hurries out. On the way, he notices a commotion. A woman is holding what she and other men believe is a Chemy. But it turns out to just be a plushie made by a little girl after she saw videos of Chemies like Hopper1. The adults immediately thought it was a real Chemy and took it from her.
Finding out it is not a Chemy, the woman throws the plushie at the little girl. Supana yells at the adults to leave and picks the plushie up to return to the girl. She thanks him.
Supana reaches Kyoka-san’s home. Lachesis is ready to defend the place, but calms down when she sees it’s Supana who is shocked to find the home ransacked. Lachesis says the people forced their way in, but Kyoka stopped her from fighting them off.
Next day, the Malgam and golem are rampaging downtown. Houtarou-tachi arrive and Minato, Sabimaru and Renge go help usher people to safety. As Houtarou and Rinne henshin, they remember Gaelijah’s warning about someone dying.
Houtarou and Rinne take on the Malgam and golem and Houtarou is able to finish them off with a Platinum Shoot finisher. The humans are released as is VenomDake who returns to a Card.
Minato, Sabimaru and Renge rejoin Houtarou and Rinne. But they are taken aback when Supana suddenly begins a national broadcast.
Supana explains that as alchemists, they swore to protect humanity from evil. But it appears that their actions have put everyone in danger instead. He says everyone has the right to blame them. Or more specifically, the cowards who called themselves the Alchemy Union. But he is not like them.
That is why Supana announces the dissolution of the Union and declares himself the overseer of all alchemy.
And as for the Chemies who have endangered world peace, he vows to dispose of them as well as all the malice that corrupts their world.
Houtarou cannot believe it.
Supana ends his broadcasts and calls Houtarou directly, ordering him to bring all of the Chemies to a location he will give them. Until the Chemies are taken care of, it’s only a matter of time until there are more victims. If they don’t bring them over, he will take them by force.
Gaelijah laughs that it is just as she saw in the stars.
Supana’s new underlings ask if he knows of the risks of this undertaking. He says he has prepared for them. And he will do anything to protect this world that his parents loved.
Episode Thoughts
Wowowow! Very exciting stuff. I think this is a logical next step for Supana’s character. We’ve seen him warming his icy self more and more each week. But the situation continues to grow more dire by the day. And seeing Kyoka-san (and Lachesis? hehe) be put in danger like this is probably the last straw for him. (Also the little girl being harassed by the adults too!)
Like he said, he’d do anything to protect this world his parents fought so hard for. It’s really not surprising that he would take a drastic action like this. At the same time, we know Supana is a good guy. So even if overcome by whatever darkness is inside him, his good will win out in the end. That’s why it’s definitely exciting to see what will happen next. Who knows, this might all even be his plan.
Considering how well the show has been able to climax several other plot threads with our supporting characters, I’m sure they’ll deliver with Supana. None of this feels out of nowhere or out of place.
Another interesting part of this story is how it kind of brushes aside the Alchemy Union’s shadiness without actually addressing it. They’ve run away like cowards. And we already knew they are acting only out of self-interest and not of the greater good of alchemy or the world as a whole. So they’re conveniently gone while Supana steps in. I don’t know where they’ll go from here and the plot thread of Minato and Supana wanting to reform, basically, alchemy as a whole. But that’s yet another interesting thing to look forward to in the final weeks perhaps.
Speaking of interesting, a very curious moment with Papa Gurion and Atropos. And that flashback! And Gaelijah’s gift for Rinne! The fact that this is all connected is scary and exciting at the same time! Lol
Elsewhere of course, it’s really great to see how the show continues to lay the groundwork for Houtarou’s finale climax. You can see how each of these stories of other characters provide that foundation for what I believe will be a really satisfying conclusion for our title hero.
Finally, YouTuber Tacchan (played by Nogami Takato) looked very familiar. So I had to look him up and I was surprised to see he had been on the show twice already! I actually went to rewatch episodes 14 and 23 just to see. And I don’t think I connected the dots either after episode 23! Lol Fun stuff!
Overall, a fun and exciting episode. Really a great stepping stone forward. Raising the stakes. And reiterating many character points that I know will really play into the endgame.

As neat as this has been, I don’t know that the show has the time to deal with this right now. We have 3 (Or Maybe 4 or 5) villains left and at most 5 episodes left, why are you spending a four episode block at the conclusion on this. Not going to say it can’t turn out well but I’m seriously questioning putting it in the show and not in a Supana centered movie or post season special (though we haven’t been getting much of those lately, probably due to Outsiders).
Yeah, definitely seems like a lot of material they need to cover. But I just assume it will all be connected somehow. We’ll see!
Good episode with Supana embracing his dark flames in the name of justice like Daiji in Revice… But honestly, the last episodes will be a pain in my heart about Lachesis’s fate… 🙁
I would like to think Supana’s story will end up a lot better than Daiji’s hehe
Gotta say, I really like the way this episode portrayed the fallout of everyone regaining their memories and the “masquerade” being blown wide open. Of course it was a bunch of entertaining chaos! lol. There’s just something really impactful about Toku storylines where the normal townsfolk turn against the heroes. And hey, they even brought back that random jerk from those other two episodes to dox the main characters and even break into the Academy. All good stuff!
It’s also interesting how they’ve been giving Gurion a little more depth since his revival regarding him actively trying to be a father to Atropos and treating her as his daughter. Though I highly doubt that he’ll wind up getting a “good ending.” Gurion has always reminded me of a more charismatic and better-developed version of Banno from Drive, and we all know that guy would up receiving a fitting and satisfying death. In the end, he’ll probably demonstrate that when push comes to shove, there’s only one person he cares about: Himself. No matter how much care he shows for Atropos compared to the other Sisters.
As for the ending with Supana, it was unexpected, yet it makes sense that someone like him is resorting to drastic measures to end the chaos. Although, I think that there’s more to this twist than it seems; it may even be a bit of a facade on Supana’s part. Mainly because of that scene of Gigist silently spying on Gaeliyah in the background which then fades RIGHT BACK to Supana. Maybe that little detail, combined with Supana suspiciously using his Black Flames more freely and skillfully than he ever has, is implying that Supana took up Gigist’s offer as part of him resorting to “drastic measures”? Perhaps Supana becoming the association leader, as was “foretold,” is part of a plan to bypass Gaeliyah’s divination abilities and take her down for good. Because her ability to see the future, as seen with her brief fight against Rainbow Gotchard, seems to somehow be even more OP than Gigist’s ability to read people’s minds.
And speaking of Gigist, it seems like he’s really taking the “Gremlin from Wizard” approach to things at the moment. Y’know, where he stays out of the “main action” for a short period of time and lurks in the background waiting for the perfect chance to get everything he wants. Maybe that thrashing by Houtarou as Rainbow Gotchard, combined with the unexpected reemergence of the other two Kings, humbled him a bit and caused him to place a greater value on “patience.” And what’s especially interesting is that his end goal is still a giant question mark at this point. The other villains have been open about their endgames:
– Gaeliyah and Germain want/wanted to evolve humans into Malgams on a grand scale, though for different reasons. Germain wanted to do it to show how much he loooooved humans. And Gaeliyah wants to do it because it’s the “rightful future” she divined.
– Gurion wants to take one of the primary goals of alchemy to its extreme and turn the world into gold, which almost every other character rightfully thinks is ridiculous. Though it’s charmingly in line with how petty he is.
But there’s been little to nothing revealed about what Gigist wants so far….
Great point about that familiar toku storyline about the public turning against the heroes. It’s a great counterpoint to Houtarou’s Gotcha dream.
I do love when TV shows can bring back random characters from the past and turn them into recurring characters and still fit in well and make sense.
Definitely seems like Gurion will really play a big part in the endgame.
That’s a good point about Supana and Gigist working together against Gaelijah. Or even if not officially working together, having that kind of mutual understand about what needs to be done. Enemy of the enemy is my friend type of deal I guess.
Definitely lots to cover left. I’m sure they might save some things for future movies or something.
I think Supana has realized that everyone’s lives are practically ruined now that the masquerade’s been permanently broken. But rather than destroy all the Chemies like he said he would, I think he simply intends to take all of them away to “shift the burden” onto himself and only himself. And perhaps to also protect everyone from the fallout of the deal he potentially made with Gigist offscreen….
And now that I think about it, there’s another detail that seems to hint at Supana and Gigist having come to an “arrangement.” Not to say Supana isn’t intelligent or anything, but, given that this episode seemed to take place in the span of a day, I don’t see him being able to construct and implement the plan of becoming association leader, with all the ulterior motives that may entail, so quickly. Gigist, on the other hand, I can easily see developing and pulling off something like that quickly. He’s pretty much the smartest villain that the season’s had, as shown on multiple occasions: 1. Him using Saigetsu as his pawn and merging him with as many Chemies as he could get his hands in order to confirm Nijigon’s location inside Houtarou. 2. Him basically “improvising” his plan of forcing Houtarou to kill his friends to drive him to despair and turn him into a Malgam once he realized simply ripping Nijigon out of Houtarou wasn’t going to work.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Gigist teleported straight away into Kyoka’s home once he “understood” that Supana finally realized he had no choice but to work with him. Maybe he even further enhanced Supana’s Black Flames by giving him a power boost like he did with Clotho.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Supana does something reckless. And it would be a big development for him.
