The Amazing Race Philippines: DryedMangoez Edition Season 21 Race Tracker – Leg 5

Leg 5

Sepilok Nature Resort (Sandakan)
Trushidup Palm Oil Plantation (Sandakan)
Gomantong Caves (Kinabatangan)
Poring Orchid Conservation Centre (Ranau)
Kipungit Waterfall (Ranau)

Sabah’s heat bore down on the teams in this thrilling, challenging Leg. Teams were tested both physically and mentally as everything from driving to the tasks themselves kept the teams’ placements fluctuating all day.

The Detour frustrated and exhausted teams as every single team switched Detours at least once and several switched multiple times.

Teams also underestimated the Road Block, which took longer than they ever anticipated. Though Vicki initially decided to perform the Road Block, she and Hayden used the Interchange. That decision actually allowed Hayden to complete the Road Block first and moved them into the front of the pack heading into the Double Road Block.

As driving and direction trouble continued to plague the teams, the Eyes or Ears Double Road Block (as it always does) flustered and confused the teams.

Though arriving at the Double Road Block in 6th place, Marco & Michele were able to complete it first and they claimed their 2nd Leg win of the Race.

The other teams did not have as easy a time as four teams decided to use the Interchange in order to try and change their fortunes on this task. That helped Jervi & Luke, Troy & KC and Gee & Archie finish the Double Road Block 2nd through 4th. Vicki & Hayden and Janice & Inah followed.

Carmina & Cassy would decide to use the Interchange, thinking that they would need to identify the same orchids once they switched. But they were very wrong, though they still left the orchids in 7th.

Once it was down to the final two teams, Benjie & Kobe decided to use their Fast Forward Note, believing this was an Elimination Leg. And they were right as Alex & Raffy fell to last place and were eliminated.
