All teams were on the same train to Taipei where it was a mad scramble to secure the earliest flight to Seoul. Though teams initially only focused on flights out of Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, Ruffa & Annabelle, Heart & Rey and Marco & Michele were able to find an earlier flight out of Taipei Songshan that would get them into Seoul more than two hours ahead of the other teams.

Once in Seoul, teams were shocked to learn about the brand-new Interchange. All teams except Heart & Rey and Ruffa & Annabelle had both team members do the rappel all in the hopes of getting the extra Interchange pass. But it was Marco & Michele, KC & Troy and Benjie & Kobe who won the extra Interchange.

All teams would again end up on the same train to Gwangju. But separation began at the Detour at the Kia manufacturing hub Autoland Gwangju. An almost equal number of teams chose either side of the Detour. And each Detour had advantages and disadvantages for each team.

What tripped teams up the most was the needle in a haystack task with finding their matching car in the sprawling lot of hundreds of Kia vehicles. Troy & KC, who were 3rd to begin looking for their car, left in last place out of Autoland Gwangju. Meanwhile, Marco & Michele and Ruffa & Annabelle had the best of luck as they moved up the most spots during the car search.

This would be a taste of things to come as the Road Block proved challenging for every single team. No team was able to finish the Road Block faster than an hour and a half. Benjie, Carmina and KC struggled the most with mastering the gayageum. Though Ruffa initially decided to do the Road Block, Annabelle urged her to use the Interchange. And that proved to be the key as Annabelle was the 4th person to complete the Road Block despite having spent less time learning than the other teams.

Ruffa & Annabelle hit a bit of a snag at the Double Road Block where Ruffa had some trouble with the firewood and Annabelle overlooked one crucial ingredient in the recipe. That dropped them a couple of spots and frustration grew.

Marco & Michele maintain their lead through the rest of the Leg all the way to their first win.

But the stroll through Juknokwon provided one final challenge for teams as they had to search the sprawling park for the Pit Stop. Teams fell behind and zoomed ahead between arrival at Juknokwon and arrival on the Mat.

Though Ruffa & Annabelle arrived at Juknokwon in 9th place, the long day has taken a toll and they end up going the long way. That allowed Carmina & Cassy to pass them and check-in as Team #9.

Troy & KC, who had been struggling in last most of the day, run through the park and manage to step on the Mat just one minute before Ruffa & Annabelle who end up eliminated, in spite of their mostly lucky day.
