Episode Thoughts

I liked this episode better than last week’s. It was definitely great to learn more about the Goldtsuikers rather than unnecessarily drag that mystery out longer than it had to be. The MOTW Noon World was also a great concept.

First off, I thought it was great to learn that the younger Goldtsuiker twins are actually “human” as well. Though it would’ve been okay for the Goldtsuikers, both the “human” two and the little robot two, be “blood” related just as they are, them being “human” is a good thing for their story. It gives the Goldtsuikers a clear endgame type of deal and also reasonably explain their apathy to the safety of others. They may be pirates, but they are also 100% focused on saving the twins from their curse.

I can only hope that their character growth involves them learning or being moved to care about others. But we’ll see.

Giving them an actual reason for their grudge against the Tojitendo is also a good detail to have clear. But I also loved Magine pointing out that they brought their situation upon themselves. It was definitely a great point. And if the Goldtsuikers can’t be bothered to do even the bare minimum in keeping innocent bystanders safe, what reason do they as Zenkaigers have to care about them either?

Obviously, the Zenkaigers are much nicer and more caring people than the pirates. So they’ll still worry about the Goldtsuikers, especially Kaito.

One of the reasons I’m not really a fan of LuPat is how they made the Lups too cocky and indifferent to anything not involving their own endgame. Like, they can be overly desperate about saving their loved ones from the ice block. But at least make them learn how to be a little less self-centered. You can do that while still maintaining that Arsene Lupin mystique.

That’s the kind of vibe I’m getting from Zox a little. And I just hope that the show leans more toward the Gokaigers as character influence over the possible similarities to the Lups. The Gokaigers were swashbuckling pirates, but they obviously got the whole season to show just how tsundere they really were. (Except Ahim and the good doc of course as they were soft cuties all season. lol)

Anyway, I liked Noon World’s motif and MO this week. Of course there are definitely places around the world that do have daylight all day long at times during the year. But what an interesting idea for the whole world to remain at noon. Seeing the consequences of such a thing was great as a story concept for this episode.

Overall, a good episode. I enjoyed it. It was fun and definitely featured some good plot development.

  1. It was definiely nice to learn more about the Goldtsuikers and heir true goals. Although, that ending with Zox saying they would leave the Zenkaigers alone as long as they don’t stand n their way was ominous. I definitely sense a confrontation on the future.

    1. Yes, most likely continued conflict or tension between them moving forward. I just hope they don’t drag it all the way to the final episode and that there’s some good character and story development to resolve it. There’s good potential.
