The Final Five have traveled overnight to Blue Mountains where they will Race on the 20th Leg. To start, teams will immediately face a Road Block: Who looks good in a suit?

For this Road Block, teams will drive themselves to Empress Canyon where they will be canyoning through with an experienced guide for their next clue. Amanda, Aleisha, Skye-Blue, Brendon and Jaskirat.

Ashleigh & Amanda arrive at the canyon first, but the Super Sikhs manage to jump up to 2nd place right behind them.

Amanda and Jaskirat have a relatively easy time getting through the canyon. Aleisha, however, has a little bit of trouble having to leap off rocks and into deep water which is a fear of hers. But she is able to get through it.

After the canyoning, team must face the Detour: Lunch or Launch. For this Detour, teams will head to the Hydro Majestic Hotel. In Lunch, teams must head to the Winter Garden Restaurant and take orders and correctly serve eight items from the menu. In Launch, teams will head to the grounds and dress as characters from The Magic Pudding. They must then shoot chocolate puddings from a slingshot and catch five in their hat.

Gold Coast Girls and Chris & Aleisha choose Lunch while Super Sikhs, Cowboys and the Siblings choose Launch.

Trying to figure out what the foods in the kitchen are, Amanda & Ashleigh decide to give each item a taste.

The Cowboys move into first place, passing the Super Sikhs. Skye-Blue & Jake arrive in last and are able to quickly catch up to Jaskirat & Anurag. Chris & Aleisha fall to last.

After the Detour, teams must drive to Carrington Town Square in Kotumba where they will learn how to perform a hula hoop routine. All five teams are neck and neck as they try to get a hang of the routine.

After Amanda & Ashleigh fail their first attempt, the Cowboys move into the lead. Amanda & Ashleigh and Chris & Aleisha are close behind. Jaskirat & Anurag are 2nd last to finish, leaving Skye-Blue & Jake to struggle in last.

After the hula hoop, teams will encounter another Road Block. For this Road Block, the non-participating team member from this morning must cross a 40 metre slat bridge more than 80 metres above ground.

Amanda & Ashleigh maintain their lead and can make their way to the Pit Stop at the Leuralla Amphitheatre. They officially step on the Mat as Team #1.

Brendon & Jackson and Chris & Aleisha are next to finish the Road Block. But the Cowboys get lost on the way to the Pit Stop. That allows Chris & Aleisha to finish as Team #2.

After getting some food at a convenience store, Brendon & Jackson finally reach the Pit Stop and can check-in as Team #3.

On the bridge, Anurag is trying to fight his fear of heights as he tries to cross. Because Anurag falls off the bridge, he has to go to the back of the line. That allows Jake to start going across the bridge. But he also falls.

On Anurag’s next attempt, he is able to get to the other end. He and Jaskirat make their way to the Pit Stop and despite running into traffic and making a wrong turn, they safely check-in as Team #4.

That means Skye-Blue & Jake are last and eliminated.

Episode Thoughts

Cayoning can always be an interesting task to watch. It looks very thrilling. And especially when there’s someone like Aleisha who may not be inclined to do such activities, it’s nice to watch people overcome their fears.

The Detour again were two straightforward tasks. The tea time/take orders task was definitely standard TAR. The other side of the Detour was a nice, unique twist on even something we’ve already seen this season. But it relates to the area and notable peoples from that area, so it’s good.

Again with the Always Sunny in Philadelphia music again during the Detour! Lol

The hula hoop task was okay. An interesting, if awkward task to have in the middle of the Leg. The second Road Block was a good, typical TAR task as well. But being a first come, first served task before the Mat can always remove some excitement.

But it was great to see the teams all close together all Leg long. That’s the kind of competition you want to see. Teams Racing together, but not holding each other’s hand! How refreshing.

Overall, the closest and most exciting competition of the season so far. I joke about this Race having 92 Legs. But in reality, there’s only four left! Thank goodness. Two more Non-Eliminations, one more eliminated team and we will FINALLY get to the Finish Line. I’m more than ready, to be honest.

My Subjective Team Rankings

Chris & Aleisha kind of faded a little bit this Leg. But the most important thing is they are safe! It was great to watch Aleisha conquer her fears during the canyoning.

It’s been good to see Jaskirat & Anurag struggle so much in the recent Legs as it reminds them they are not invincible. As long as they don’t hand other teams their cheese, they can do well.

Amanda & Ashleigh showing that they are the strongest team left. Without MJ & Chelsea, they really are the top contender to win.

Brendon & Jackson again showing how inconsistent they can be. They were able to take the lead a few times this Leg, but they just as easily lost their lead as well.

Skye-Blue & Jake have done relatively well this season. Skye-Blue never needing her brother or anyone else for that matter need to make up for the fact that she only has one arm. Which is why it was annoying to see the Gold Coast Girls stop to help her or the Sikhs giving them their cheese when they are more than capable of doing well on their own. It takes away from their solid Racing. But I’m certainly not sad they are eliminated.
