Music Monday, November 16, 2020 – Great comebacks and powerful rookies: Ha Sung Woon, E’LAST, JO1, BXK

Great comebacks and powerful rookies for this week’s Music Monday!

“Forbidden Island,” Ha Sung Woon

Ha Sung Woon has had a great string of solo releases and his latest, “Forbidden Island,” takes it to the next level. The sexy song is the perfect opportunity for him to spread his wings and show off his versatility. There’s never any question about Ha Sung Woon’s vocals. And he delivers once again here. A wonderfully pleasant surprise.

“Tears of Chaos,” E’LAST

E’LAST had a solid debut in July and they are back with their first comeback. “Tears of Chaos” is an impactful, dramatic track. The guys ooze charisma in the music video that highlights a powerful performance and top-notch vocals to accompany the passionate and emotional lyrics. A great first comeback for them.

“Shine a Light,” JO1

Produce 101 Japan‘s winning group JO1 has been on a roll since their official debut. Now they are about to release their first full album. Their singles so far have shown off their charisma. And here, the group shows off their brighter sides with a great, uplifting midtempo track.

“NOYB,” BXK

“Fly High,” BXK

Arirang’s Pops in Seoul has introduced me to many rookie groups over the years. And this week, they did it again by allowing me to meet new group BXK. The group debuted earlier this month and it’s a very promising debut for them. Their dual title tracks immediately show off their duality and versatility. The powerful hip-hop track “NOYB” is solid and allows them to showcase their performance skills. The bright, summery “Fly High” shows a different side to them and allows you to get to know them a little better. I kind of prefer it actually. But it’s a great pair of songs that introduces you to them well. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for them.
