Kamen Rider Saber Episode 3 Recap

Episode Thoughts

Another solid episode. Having fun is great, of course. But it’s always good to get a little more serious, especially as we’re still trying to get a feel for the season.

We got to see a little bit more about the villains this episode. At least, their dynamic with each other. And the tease of Kento’s relationship with Calibur. Could he be his father? His brother? Mother, perhaps?! Who knows! It’s definitely an intriguing development with lots of great potential.

I also look forward to digging deeper into the childhood relationship between Touma, Kento and the mystery girl.

We got a couple of new characters this week. It was very surprising to me! Of course, we were teased with Kento last week.

But I wasn’t expecting Ogami-san to also be a Rider and member of the SoL. Not to mention having his son tag-a-long too. And then there’s Tetsuo popping up out of nowhere as well. It definitely looks like a big cast, so there’s no shortage of possibilities for stories!

The video game scenes last week were really odd to me. Kinda cool, but still a little awkward. So I enjoyed not seeing them this week. And the action was still great.

Overall, another good, solid episode. They’re doing enough each week so far to introduce a lot of things well and setting the stage in an interesting way.

  1. I think at this point my worry with Kamen Rider Saber is that the cast is getting explosively big. And the potential for many of these characters to end up shallow.

    1. Yeah, I think we still have another Rider to introduce. And then whoever that little girl is if she’s not already on the show *wink*wink*
I think it’s possible to handle a lot of characters. Though thinking about the other seasons, it’s a pretty comparable number of supporting characters
