The Kiramagers arrive at the scene of Marshmallow Jamen attacking middle-aged women by turning them into marshmallows with plump, soft skin for Carantula to eat AND to collect darkness of course.
Takamichi pops in a little late, but is frozen in shock when he sees the mallows.
The others quickly henshin to take on some Bechats. But they are unable to leave a scratch on Marshmallow Jamen’s plump, bouncy body, allowing him to leave.
Sena runs over to Takamachi who admits that marshmallows are traumatic for him.
Back at the coconut tree, Muryou ends up explaining his brother’s story. When Takamichi was in high school, his crush Akiho gave him chocolates. But she later overheard Takamichi trying to play it off to his bros, upsetting her.
Takamichi planned on apologizing by giving her marshmallows on White Day. But the day before was when Takamichi had to be whisked off to Crystalia, thus he never got the chance.
Muryou says Akiho is a famous violinist now and actually has a concert today. Sena suggests they help Takamichi make marshmallows for him to give to Akiho today.
Takamichi says he’ll just be a bother to her after all these years. And besides, he’d planned on going treasure hunting. Sena yanks his Changer off his wrist and gives it to Sayo.
While Dr. Sayo and Shiguru fly off to search a very specific location from the notebook, Sena, Juuru, Tametomo and Mabushina are busy making marshmallows. Sena tries getting Takamichi to help them, but he takes a nap instead.
While Sena tries convincing Takamichi, Tametomo uses the marshmallows to try to find a way to defeat the Jamenshi. Juuru pulls out a tray of marshmallows Takamichi had carelessly put in the freezer. And when Takamichi bumps into Juuru, the marshmallow shatters on the floor.
Takamichi tells Sena to just mind her own business. But Sena says this is her business.
Just then, an alarm sounds and Marshmallow Jamen is rampaging where Akiho’s concert is being held. Sena says this is perfect and she grabs Takamichi as they head out. Tame-kun tells Juuru he’ll stay behind as he might have just figured out a plan.
Shiguru and Sayo meet Juuru, Sena and Takamichi and show them the new Kiramai Stone they found. Sayo returns Takamichi’s Changer.
Sena sees Akiho running out of the concert hall and grabs Takamichi to follow her.
Juuru henshins as Tametomo arrives with a brand-new Ice Bullet. He shoots it at Marshmallow and freezes him. Now that he is solid, they should be able to attack.
Carantula sends over Hassha Ligany. It shoots the Kiramagers out of their henshins and blows up buildings all over downtown. Takamichi and Sena get caught up in the falling debris and they drop the marshmallow gift for Akiho. Before it can get buried in the rubble, Sena uses her super speed to safely grab it.
Alarms go off across the city.
Juuru has a Hirameking and draws out the new Kiramai Stone turning into Mashin Magellan which can mix and shoot super concrete.
As the others henshin once again, Sena gives the Marshmallows to Takamichi to hand to Akiho now. He asks why she is so insistent and wonders if she had also experienced a similar situation of a rejected confession before.
Of course not, Sena says. She believes if Takamichi doesn’t deal with this now, he will regret it forever and won’t ever be able to run at full speed. Takamichi is surprised she cares that much about him. But Sena says he shouldn’t be. Of course she would care about a teammate. If he’s not at 100%, then that will affect the team.
Takamichi agrees with her sentiment.
Takamichi tells Sena to join the others in taking on the Jamenju while he takes care of the Jamenshi. Once he’s done, he’ll be sure to give the Marshmallows.
Takamichi and Sena henshin and the Kiramagers split up to deal with the Jamens.
Juuru has a Hirameking to have Magellan join them to form Kiramaizin Magellan.
And at the same time, the Kiramagers defeat Marshmallow Jamen and Hassha Ligany.
Later, Takamichi meets with Akiho and apologizes for the hurtful things he said all those years ago. She is surprised he came all this way just to say that, but he says he did make a promise to her. And he apologizes for having taken so long.
Akiho says it’s been a long time, but Takamichi hasn’t changed one bit.
Sena happily watches them.
Shiguru, Tametomo and Sayo thing Sena pushed Takamichi to find closure for a selfish reason. But Juuru says that’s not all. He points out that Sena wouldn’t be smiling so much if it was as simple as the team not being at 100%.
Back at the coconut tree, Juuru and Muryou wonder if Magellan can mix up some pineapple apple pen juice, but he says not at all.
Episode Thoughts
It’s been very interesting how every episode since his arrival feels like a Takamichi focus episode. Thankfully he’s such a likeable character that I don’t mind it all.
But another interesting and awesome thing about Kiramager so far is that even a focus episode can adequately feature everyone else. This episode was mainly a Takamichi and Sena-focus. But the others were still very much involved. Shiguru and Sayo went treasure hunting and found the new Stone. Tametomo figured out the marshmallow situation. And Juuru had his Hiramekings.
Kiramager has done a pretty solid job in many episodes featuring and involving everyone even in smaller contributions. Sometimes in other shows, you barely see most of the cast when it’s a focus ep.
Having a fuller approach and using the entire cast well (even in the time of coronavirus) is nice to see on Kiramager.
There were a lot of great character moments in the episode from everyone too. And in that sense, I think Sena got the strongest bit of character development here. We were able to see another, very positive side of her and that’s always great.
Mashin Magellan’s intro was a little random, but it’s alright. Being part of a very full episode makes up for it.
Overall, a fun episode with good character development.
