Leg 20.10 – “It has something to do with cows.”
It’s the home stretch and teams begin the 10th Leg by taking a train from Lyon to Paris, arriving at 9:02pm. Upon arrival in Paris, teams must make their way to the stunning Louvre and search the area for their next clue.
That clue tells teams they will be flying to Havana, Cuba! All teams will be on the same Air France flight arriving at 8:35pm.
Upon arrival in Havana, teams must make their way to Malecon Beach.
Teams must search the area for this vendor and buy a pair of sandals to receive their next clue.
Teams now make their way to the preserved garden at Donghwa Hotel Havana and search for this man to receive the next clue.
Teams will rest overnight at this Cuban outpost of the Korean hotel chain before departing in the morning every five minutes in order of their arrival.
Before departing in the morning, teams must vote at the FINAL Forced Double U-Turn Vote Board.
Then teams must choose a classic American car to drive for the rest of the Leg.
Teams will first drive themselves to Centro Cultural Polo Montanez in the town of Vinales.
Here, teams must learn and perform a salsa routine together in order to receive the next clue.
Next, teams must drive themselves to the Mural de la Prehistoria where they will find a Double Road Block: Eyes or Ears.
Here at one of the oldest murals in the world, teams will be using Samsung Galaxy S20s and Samsung Galaxy buds to recreate the mural on a small canvas. The team member who will be using their eyes will relay the mural’s details to their teammate (who will use their ears) who will paint the replica. They will only communicate using the Samsung Galaxy devices. Once their replica is approved, they will receive the next clue.
Teams must now head further into the Parque Nacional Vinales. Each team member must hop on a horse to search this coffee plantation and nearby mogotes, or limestone cliffs, and avocado farms for 10 marked clue locations. Only two locations will contain real clues.
And those real clues tell them to head to Finca Raul Reyes.
After checking in at the FINAL U-Turn Reveal Board, teams will find the Detour: Pick and Dry or Roll and Seal.
In Pick and Dry, teams will learn how to harvest and dry tobacco leaves.
In Roll and Seal, teams will learn how to properly roll cigars and seal them with honey.
After finishing the Detour, teams can make their way on foot to the Cueva de la Vaca, the Pit Stop for this Leg of the Race.

The last team to check-in here WILL NOT be eliminated! This is a Non-Elimination Leg! And that last place team must Self Yield on the next Leg:
“Director’s” Commentary
So visiting Havana basically stemmed from my watching the Korean drama Encounter which made Havana look so stunning. I decided it’d be a good time to visit it again on this VS season.
We have a little bit of fun here with the first half of the Leg all inspired by things from the drama. But what I wanted to do with this Leg was explore more of Cuba outside of Havana again.
So first up, the logistics work out well with arriving in Havana at night. So the Malecon Beach task as well as visiting the hotel (which only exists in the drama lol) are great for after dark. Having the salsa task now instead of during the day would be perfect too. But I don’t really like putting an overnight equalizer in the middle of the Leg.
Then again, since this is a Non-Elimination Leg, perhaps it might be okay to have a nighttime salsa task.
This Leg is a Non-Elimination only because it feels very thin and barebones. So I turned it into a little quirk for this season to stretch it out to what is essentially a 13 Leg season.
Anyway, featuring the classic American cars is always awesome.
I’m sure there’s plenty of tasks to be had here in Vinales alone. But these are what we have based on our Google scouting trip.
Sneaking in another Samsung task will make our friends happy of course. And it’s another painting/art task. Eee… but it’s alright.
The next task is a bit of a luck task which is fine on this Non-Elimination Leg. It gets teams to explore a beautiful area.
The Detour is pretty straightforward and certainly nothing new or groundbreaking. But it’s a good Detour for a U-Turn. And of course, having the U-Turn at the end of the Leg is alright when it’s a Non-Elim.
Overall, a solid Leg I think.
