The change of country drastically shuffled the placements of teams. Most of the teams were able to stick close together with separation starting at the Trikents or Treats Detour and further at the paragliding. Several teams missed a few camouflaged and small Race flags resulting in them incurring penalties. Only three teams got the correct, matching answers.
The leading group of teams were able to break away at Phewa Lake and further at the singing bowls Road Block. But the majority of teams were able to catch up at Phewa Lake and especially at Purna Yoga Retreat Centre.
Teams struggled with the Road Block with several requiring at least eight attempts. The fastest time between arrival and completion of this Road Block was 45 minutes. The longest time was 2 hours and 8 minutes.
It was a thrilling Race to the Pit Stop as seven teams caught up and battled it out at the Road Block, the final task before the Pit Stop. Mlee & Quoc Anh and Rachel & Elissa ended up being the last two teams to leave the Purna Yoga Retreat Centre. But confusing taxi troubles during the 30 minute drive to the International Mountain Museum shuffled the mad dash to the Mat.
As shown in the Road Block count below, the order of teams leaving the Purna Yoga Retreat Centre and their eventual finish in the Leg is as follows:
Jak & Sanya – 6th > 11th
Dave & Irina – 7th > 12th
Arthur & Rochelle – 8th > 9th
Martina & Phil – 9th > 6th
Megan & Mikael – 10th > 7th
Mlee & Quoc Anh – 11th > 8th
Rachel & Elissa – 12th > 10th
All seven teams arrived at the museum within a span of 13 minutes. And Jak & Sanya were able to step on the Mat less than a minute before Dave & Irina. And while Dave & Irina were able to get themselves into the leading group most of the Leg, it all came down to a close finish and bad taxi luck.
While all seven teams were at the Mat, Dave & Irina made the decision to activate the U-Turn or Yield on the next Leg.
