Episode Thoughts

WOWOWOWOWOW! That was an absolutely amazing episode. Obviously, when the opening credits don’t air, you know shit’s about to go down. And they definitely did not disappoint!

I mean, not a single slow moment in the episode. Not a single pun from Aruto. They were all business. And everything unfolded in such perfect fashion all leading up to that incredible shot at the end of Aruto walking away and the episode’s title popping up on the screen for the first time. “Our Dreams Won’t Be Broken”

Indeed sir! I cried. #MaGMCM

So much going on in this episode. And everything feeling so important to the story. The revelation of Naki. Yua’s mental health! Jin and Horobi’s dueling mandates. Aruto’s resolve. Saving Izu. Isamu’s absolute triumph.

And we definitely can’t forget that delicious scene of Gai stumbling away after getting his ass handed to him by Isamu using something of his own creation. Seriously, nothing but the total and complete humiliation of Gai will suffice as an endgame! lol

But this episode showed too that the whole job competition was merely to establish just how revolting Gai truly is. It’s really so stunning to see a character as horrible as Gai. (But horrible in a “good” way lol)

As Aruto continues to be the heart of the series, Isamu’s journey continues to be one worthy of a title hero. We of course know of his views of Humagears before. We know what his goal had been. And now we see how far he’s come. It really was a triumphant moment for him this episode. I’m not sure if this was the first time the theme song kicked in during the episode. But it was such a perfect moment for it. I always love it when either of Kamen Rider or Super Sentai use their theme songs for certain big moments. It gives those scenes a sort of iconic treatment and it absolutely worked here.

Ryutaro Okada absolutely knocked it out of the park as well!

I really need to learn Japanese. I would love to hear his commentary on the episode this week:

Yua slapping Izu to the ground was a big No No! Girl, whatchu doin?! She’s obviously struggling in her head. And I hope they give her some meaty material to work with there.

Overall, I absolutely loved this episode. They’ve wrapped up this ZAIA arc perfectly and now we’re moving on to the next one. Zero-One has definitely been running on all cylinders! And I am absolutely enjoying it.

  1. Oh, boy… So much emotions here…
I really thought Aruto will win. I truly cheered him to the end. I hope he will do everything to save his reputation.
That scene with Jin, Horobi and Isamu was very interesting. Isamu starts to really change 🙂
Wonder what Yua is thinking. Does she really have her own dream too? I’m sure, she does 🙂
And know we have to wait for next chapter 😉
