Episode Thoughts

I really enjoyed this episode. Essentially a great Kureon focus episode and very much felt like a great climax to his story. There’s definitely more to be done with Kureon in the final episodes. But we’ve seen his story up to this point. He’s felt down, depressed. We’ve seen him be used by one general after another. So it’s about time he finally realizes his own worth. Something that’s been a theme throughout the season for the Ryusoulgers and the Birthers of the Week.

The episode started out goofy, but ended with a great message and the interesting cliffhanger. But especially the character moments for Kureon.

Dare I say, Kureon is the best developed villain since Kyuemon in Ninninger? Or even since the Shadow Line of ToQger?

As flimsy as the main conflict regarding the Druidons is, individually the characters themselves, especially Kureon, have been engaging and at least fun. Legitimately fearsome at times, but mostly fun and light.

So all that helped make this Kureon-focused episode feel like it had a purpose and wasn’t just a filler episode in the 40s.

The moment Kureon tosses Koh the Ryusoul Calibur was surprisingly emotional. And it speaks to how Kureon has developed as a character over the last 40 episodes.

Elsewhere, it was definitely very fun to see Rikako Sakata as Miya. And her story with Canalo and her possibly being a birther would’ve been a great episode on its own. But it was woven in well with Kureon’s story.

In also the short time, Canalo and Miya make a great couple so it would’ve even been nice to expand on their backstory and even turn it into the reason Canalo is so obsessed with marriage. He’s been trying to get over losing the love of his life Miya. Lol

Loved all the action sequences as well. Especially in those suits.

But anyway, I really liked this episode and that it successfully sets up Kureon & Waizuru teaming up with the Ryusoulgers against Pricious (possibly) makes it even better.
