Asuna steps forward to say she also feared the same.

Bamba admits he too feared losing them. Which is why he didn’t want to go around forging bonds in the first place. He has a quick flashback to Master Black pointing a sword at his face.

That’s when Bamba decided that not valuing anything, especially comrades, prevents you from being hurt in the even that you lose them.

Episode Thoughts

I very much enjoy good, simple teamwork episodes. Especially for characters I actually like. So I definitely enjoyed this episode a lot. And it was a good episode to help reinforce their teamwork and bond going into this final stretch. Obviously they’re going to need to work together to battle whatever final big bad boss appears. So this was a good episode to help set that all up.

It was also a great episode that served as sort of a culmination of Bamba’s season-long reticence about embracing his Ryusoul comrades. We’ve seen him begrudgingly show his emotions and true feelings toward his comrades many times already, but this obviously was the first time he has acknowledged it out loud.

The Ryusoulgers’ fear of losing one another was definitely a great way to illustrate how far they’ve come as a team since the beginning and a good catalyst to them reaffirming their teamwork.

The episode also featured, finally, all six Ryusoulgers in the cockpit of King KishiryuOh, so it worked out well to lead up to that here. I’d even say this episode was much more exciting and affecting than the debut of King KishiryuOh itself lol

I don’t know how I feel about the apparent final boss popping up out of nowhere. We don’t know how that will all play out. But I much prefer big bads that are threats or looming on the horizon for a while throughout the season rather than one that pops up and isn’t even mentioned until the 40s.

So what was the deal with the mirror? Kureon mentioned it was a mirror that shows you your own death. And I expected that to play a bigger role in the story. A very morbid thing and certainly a great jumping off point for a full-length story about such a mirror. But in the end it seemed like the mirror was merely a Minosaur birther and all it wanted was to have people smile at it instead? I didn’t get that.

Unless, it plays a role in the next episodes. Since why would Kureon leave it there like that and giggle as he ran off. I dunno. Lol

I also wonder if Master Black plays a big role in the endgame too. The flashback Bamba had was very intriguing.

Looks like there’s one last general being introduced, But I do hope Eras, whoever or whatever it is, makes for a great ending. I really liked the design for the Minosaur though. That’s Final Boss-level awesome and terrifying!

Overall, a great, exciting and enjoyable episode.
