Recap: Power Rangers Beast Morphers, Halloween Special – Hypnotic Halloween

Power Rangers Beast Morphers Halloween Special

It’s Halloween at GBHQ. Nate is Dr. Frankenstein, Steel is Frankenstein’s monster, Ravi is Sherlock Holmes and Zoey is a Viking. They are getting ready to watch a scary movie on a strange, but free streaming service Nate found. Devon will be running late since he’s not that into Halloween.

But the movie is actually a plot by Scrozzle to hypnotize the Rangers into believing they are the characters they’re dressed up as. Devon arrives just as the message ends, but the others are already hypnotized and going crazy.

Devon tries to get Ravi to snap out of it, but Sherlock Holmes says he only responds to an officer of Scotland Yard. Devon decides to dress up as a cop and asks Sherlock Holmes to help him find a missing person, Ravi Shaw.

Devon introduces flashback clips and they help Ravi get back to normal.

They figure that they have to dress up and play along with the others to help them snap out of their hypnosis. Devon dresses up as a Viking and hurries to find Zoey.

Devon finds Zoey trying to smash open the vending machine. Devon gets into a Viking character, but Zoey thinks he is from a warring faction. She hurls her axe at his chest and it hits him. But it’s only rubber. Devon ties her up and proceeds to introduce her clips.

Zoey snaps out of her hypnosis.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ravi Shaw finds Frankenstein and his monster and ties them up. Joined by Drs. Reeves and Daniels, they begin the brothers’ clips and the two of them are back to normal.

Just then, Commander Shaw calls about a Robotron trying to steal a Morph-X truck. The Rangers hurry over. Scrozzle can’t believe the Rangers have snapped out of the hypnosis.

The Rangers morph. They take on the Robotron and some Tronics as Scrozzle summons a Gigadrone. Devon and Zoey hop in their zords. But the Gigadrone is a Delta model as out pops a second robo.

Ravi hops in his zord to help Devon and Zoey while Nate and Steel take on the Robotron.

Devon, Ravi and Zoey form the megazord, but they quickly lose all their Morph-X and are forced to separate. Nate and Steel join the battle in their zords. Nate goes into Battle Mode and together with Steel, finish off the Gigadrone.

Back at GBHQ, the Rangers settle down for another movie. This time, Devon decides to wear a costume after realizing it’s fun to dress up.

Episode Thoughts

Well, what can you really say about the holiday episodes? It was alright. At least only half of it was a clip show. The other half, of course, was just Go-Busters zord footage though.

The original stuff was fun at least. It was fun seeing the Rangers play up their Halloween costume characters.

Other than that, just a typical Power Rangers holiday special.

  1. A typical Halloween Special of Power Rangers.
Nice to see rangers, including Steel who is robot, in costume.
Nate is pretty similar to his normal outfit, though there are some evil menace/touch to it since he’s Doctor Frankenstein; nice nod to Evil/Clone Nate we saw previously. lol
Steel is Frankenstein Monster, which is no surprise; though, I kind of wished they used green instead of blue.
Ravi is Sherlock Holmes and Zoey as Viking (nice accent) is interesting choice.

Not only Ben and Betty are absent, but so as Blaze, Roxy, and Evox as well, which I find it interesting; though, I doubt latter 3 wouldn’t waste their time on Halloween anyway.
Nice use of Scrozzle to hypnotize ranger; since Scrozzle is non-Sentai Power Rangers exclusive villain, Hasbro got to milk many footages as they can.

Even though this was clip show (for first half), which isn’t surprising to these types of episode we’ve seen in last few years, I like the clever use of clip, where it used to wake from hypnotism.
As for second half, it was mostly Sentai/Morphed footage, which is typical for clip-show.
Nice to see Devon costume at the end as skeleton NINJA… which may (or may not) foreshadow possible crossover. lol XD

Overall, it was decent Halloween special.
Better than some of previous seasons.
