Tyramigo relates how much he has enjoyed living in Tokyo. He plays baseball with the local team, is greeted by grandmas at the park and gets to visit schoolchildren and their teacher. But he definitely does not enjoy Melto.
Back at home, Koh, Melto and Asuna are trying to cool down from the hot summer heat. But Papa Naohisa is upset that they’ve left a mess all over the lab. He kicks them out.
Meanwhile, Tyramigo visits the children at the school where he is calmed hearing them be happy and enjoying their youth. Their teacher, Sawa Misako, however, is obsessed with rules and wonders how she can get the kids to follow them.
Kureon and Waizuru are having lunch in a nearby classroom. Misako scolds them for wearing “costumes” at school, but Kureon shoves some slime into her mouth to create a Minosaur.
Canalo is cooling off with a swim at the pool, fully clothed. Before Mosa Rex can ask him how his wife hunting is going, Canalo hears Misako’s scream and hurries over to her.
Canalo is immediately falls for her as she comes running toward him. But he is dejected when he sees she has a wedding ring. She frantically tells him about the kids having gone missing.
Canalo heads to the library where he finds the Minosaur. He henshins and battles the Minosaur. But the Minosaur blows her whistle when Canalo breaks the library rule of keeping quiet. Canalo poofs away somewhere. Kureon hopes this Minosaur can show Waizuru that he is capable.
The Minosaur goes downtown looking for rulebreakers. Towa and Bamba both henshin and take her on. But the Minosaur is still weak since it has only just been born. Kureon calls timeout and they head back to school to power her up.
Towa and Bamba find the Minosaur on the school’s walkway, but the Minosaur cites them for running in the halls and makes them go poof. Kureon hopes Tankjo is watching him.
Koh, Melto and Asuna are trying to keep cool sitting outside Chez Tatsui when Tyramigo arrives home. But they are shocked to see Kureon’s YouTube video gloating about making the schoolchildren disappear. Tyramigo is incensed.
The four of them head over to the school. Melto uses KikeSoul to try and find the kids. Their cries for help lead them to the music room, but it’s only a tape recording playing. Koh and Asuna are cited for wrecking school property when they break down the door and they go poof as well.
Tyramigo wants to run after the Minosaur and Kureon, but Melto points out all the rules on the wall and how this is just a trap.
Koh and Asuna are transported to an enclosed detention classroom with walls full of rules. The other rule breakers, including Towa, Bamba and Canalo, are here as well. There is a rule posted prohibiting henshins, so the Ryusoulgers cannot transform.
A salaryman gets upset over why he’s here when he says he just threw away an empty can. Canalo is annoyed since the guy should’ve recycled. He grabs the guy’s collar. But there is a rule against fighting.
As punishment and this being their second infraction, the ceiling begins to slowly cave in on them.
Meanwhile, Melto and Tyramigo are carefully making their way through the halls, avoiding running which is against the rules. Tyramigo suggests they powerwalk instead.
Melto and Tyramigo find Misako who is losing her life energy to the Minosaur. Melto says he can’t do much with all the rules in the school. But Tyramigo says Melto can outside the school. Tyramigo says to leave that part to him.
Tyramigo heads to the teachers’ office where Kureon and the Minosaur are. Tyramigo bites the Minosaur’s arm. Kureon summons some Drunns who come in, trying to get Tyramigo to stop.
Over in the detention room, the others are doing all they can to hold the roof up so as not to crush the kids and others to death. Asuna is able to protect the kids from falling desks by shielding them and having the desks fall on her back instead.
But they can’t hold the ceiling up much longer. That’s when Bamba decides it’s do or die. He activates a Soul just as the ceiling comes crashing down.
Tyramigo has dragged the Minosaur and Drunns out to the football field. That allows Melto to henshin and able to easily finish off the Drunns before focusing on the Minosaur.
The Minosaur falls onto a football, flattening it. She is beside herself in agony as she has just broken a rule.
The others, meanwhile, are safe in the detention room because Bamba used Yawaraka Soul to make the ceiling soft and safe. That allows the Ryusoulgers to break everyone free from the room.
Koh-tachi hurry out to Melto and Tyramigo. Tyramigo embiggens himself.
Kureon has the Drunns throwing papers around the hallway to force Misako to release more life energy, thus embiggening the Minosaur.
Koh and Canalo hop into Gigant KishiryuOh and they are able to defeat the Minosaur for good with a Gigant Double Bite.
Kureon meets up with Waizuru who had disguised himself as one of the schoolchildren when he got sent to detention by the Minosaur for laughing loudly in the classroom earlier.
Melto and Tyramigo are with Misako-sensei. They say teaching the kids to follow the rules is good, but having them understand why they should follow the rules is important too.
Misako thanks Tyra-chan. She wants to thank Melto, but doesn’t know his name. Tyramigo tells her his name, correctly for the first time.
Misako thanks Melto and he is happy about Tyramigo seemingly warming up to him.
Later, Melto thanks Tyramigo for helping him this episode.
Back home, Koh, Asuna and Melto have cleaned the entire lab. Papa Naohisa thinks they’ve actually gone a little too far, but Asuna says Ryusoulers never stop once they’ve started something.
Melto asks Tyramigo if he can hop on his back to clean up high, but Tyramigo refuses.
I don’t know what exactly it was, but I think I love this episode. Definitely one of my favorites now of the season. It felt different and refreshing. Certainly a standalone, filler-type of episode. Nothing that furthers the story. But it was fun, exciting, kinda dramatic. And I feel like it had a very different direction as well. I mean, the directing was different.
Not sure about who the director (or writer, for that matter) was, but it really felt different. In a great way. Some interesting shots and angles, even experimental at some points. With the writing, a pretty much straightforward story and plot development. But with unique and subtle touches.
I really don’t know how to describe it. It just felt different and refreshing. Almost like a different show, to be quite honest. It’s like a completely different team behind the scenes came in and took over the season.
That might be an exaggeration on my part. But I just really enjoyed this episode so much and I feel like it had to do with it just feeling different. Nothing was over the top. Everyone acted like normal people and not cartoon characters.
There really was this different vibe to the episode. Maybe even some (or a lot of) dry humor throughout the episode.
Maybe that’s what it was. Just a lot of dry humor in the midst of a robot dinosaur playing baseball and walking around town, an overzealous teacher obsessed with rules, very sweaty young men and woman in the dead of summer, an intentionally mispronounced name, a relatively polite monster of the week… and the list could go on.
Definitely fun seeing Yukari Taki, even if just for a little bit. Tyramigo and Melto being the odd couple at first and becoming an awesome team in the end was nice and even heartwarming.
But again, overall, I just really love whatever they were doing in this episode. And I hope it somehow continues moving forward.
