While Kureon is helping Waizuru decorate their new lair, they are surprised by the arrival of Gachireus. Gachireus is eager to defeat the Ryusoulgers. Waizuru is annoyed by Gachireus being bossy and his manner of speaking so he leaves.
That leaves Kureon alone to deal with Gachireus.
Over at Chez Tatsui, the Ryusoulgers read a news story about oarfish and Papa Naohisa relates the legend about why they are called “ryugunotsukai.” Papa Naohisa explains that a sea turtle once took Urashima Taro to the Dragon Palace where he enjoyed two weeks there before turning to the surface. But when he returned, he discovered that a hundred years had passed. Papa Naohisa says he wonders if Urashima is of the Ryusoul Tribe. And if like the prime minister, there are lots of Ryusoulgers around the world living in the shadows.
On the other side of town, Ui is trying to come up with ideas for her next video when she stumbles upon a very proper and Ryusoul-looking gentleman getting dumped by a girl just as he is about to offer her a rose. She hates that he wants to conserve energy.
Ui thinks he’s pretty hot, but perhaps too much of a Green New Deal-type of guy. Too bad.
Just then, another girl approaches him and says she likes the Green New Deal. The young man is immediately smitten with her and hands her the flower that the first girl rejected.
Ui can’t believe the guy would offer the rejected rose. But she’s even more in disbelief when this new girl actually accepts it.
A Minosaur suddenly appears and the guy introduces himself as Canalo. The girl is Akane. He asks her to stay put and close her eyes.
Canalo morphs into Ryusoul Gold and makes quick work of the Minosaur. Gachireus tells Kureon to hurry and move on to the next Minosaur. FutureKureon reminisces that it was at this moment that he lost his smile.
Back home, Ui shows the others video of the new Ryusoulger.
On the other side of town, Canalo and Akane are taking a stroll in the park when her BOYFRIEND Kazuma comes running up to them. Canalo is shocked. But Kazuma suddenly collapses to the ground. She apologizes to Canalo as she helps Kazuma home.
Koh and Asuna find Canalo, but he refuses to join them. All he wants to do is to find a wife. Before they can try and talk with him more, Melt calls them about a Minosaur.
Koh, Asuna, Towa and Bamba arrive to help Melt, but the Minosaur sends an electromagnetic wave attack at them. Koh uses MeraMera Soul, but the Minosaur easily counters with a water attack.
Gachireus orders Kureon to make 500 copies of the Minosaur.
Canalo finds Akane and Kazuma’s apartment. She lets him in, but she quickly runs to Kazuma’s side when he cries out in pain, his life energy getting sucked up by the Minosaur.
Canalo sees that Kazuma works at a nightclub. Akane says it is his dream to open his own club one day and she buys him expensive brand name items to help him keep up appearances at work. Canalo tries to tell Akane that she is too good for Kazuma.
He leaves and finds the Ryusoulgers trying to understand how to defeat the strong Minosaur. The Ryusoulgers decide they’ll just have to give it everything they’ve got. They run off to find the Minosaur.
Meanwhile, Gachireus forces Kureon to squeeze out as much juice as he can from his body to the point that Kureon collapses, exhausted.
The Ryusoulgers find the Minosaur and they morph. They use all the Souls they’ve got, but nothing seems to work against the Minosaur. Gachireus happily watches the Ryusoulgers struggle and can’t wait until he can gain control of Earth.
A weak and exhausted Kureon stumbles across the city carrying the pails of his sticky green slime. He pushes himself to just put away all other thoughts and focus on his orders.
The Ryusoulgers are forced to demorph, but Koh tells them there’s no obstacle that can’t be overcome. Before the Minosaur can kill them for good, Canalo arrives. He says he came for Akane, not for them. While he isn’t the man for Akane, he will do what he can to make her happy and that means having Kazuma.
Canalo says all he needs is one thing to motivate him. He morphs.
Gachireus sends Drunns over, but Canalo easily takes care of them before finishing off the Minosaur on his own with a Mosa Breaker Final Thunder Shot.
Gachireus looks for Kureon, not knowing Kureon has collapsed and spilled all his slime. Kureon can’t help but dream about the good ol’ days without Gachireus when he could smile and laugh.
On the other side of town, the Ryusoulgers approach Canalo. But Gachireus appears and shoots at them. He warns them to enjoy their moment for now because they are going to die soon.
Canalo still refuses to join up with them, instead he will focus on finding a wife.
Melt asks where he’s been all this time. Canalo says at the bottom of the ocean. The Dragon Palace?
Episode Thoughts
A very interesting introduction to Canalo. He seems likeable enough, but I certainly don’t fully understand his character. He likes dating and wants to settle down? Umm… okay. Very strange! Lol
The MOTW story with Akane and Kazuma was also very awkward. Like, she was all ready to start going out with Canalo, though she already had a boyfriend. But it was implied that he was just using her for money so he could get her to buy expensive brand name things. But she cared about him when he was dying. What? I don’t get it. Lol
It really was a very strange episode overall. I think what I enjoyed the most was Ui’s color commentary of Canalo’s moves at the beginning. That was legit funny even though I still hope for Ui to get some deeper story than just being simple comic relief.
Kureon was also very interesting this episode. I’m not sure how to take his interactions with Gachireus. Obviously, Gachireus is pretty ruthless and without conscience. And he absolutely tortured Kureon. But I wonder if Kureon truly did lose his smile and ability to laugh after this. That is, the happy-go-lucky Kureon we’ve known is gone and instead we see a more tortured Kureon who gets bossed around and no longer has control over his own life!
Wow! It could be that or just a one-off gag. Lol But I’ll go with the former and believe we’re getting some development on the villain side.
We saw some nice LuPat-style drone use during Canalo’s battle with the Drunns and the Minosaur in the end which was awesome.
But overall, while I like Canalo, his character is very much a question. We’ll see where they take him.

Well, I thought Canalo will appear later. But I really like his introduction and especially, I love his henshin koza 😍
But I don’t like the fact that Canalo is so stubborn. Doesn’t he know, he can’t find wife right away? I hope the others can quickly convince him to themselves. Especially I believe Koh can do that!😊
