Daikaan Mondomuyoindaver has a city council meeting where the oppressed peoples can express their concerns. He says he will listen as long as the people fix their own problems. Scorpio is bored by the proceedings so he injects the Indavers with a poison.
Up on the Orion, the Rashinban Kyutama needs to rest a bit before they can continue searching for the other two Argo Ship Kyutamas. Commander Ronpo announces that Kotaro will be going to Rebellion headquarters to undergo basic training like combat training and galaxy history classes.
But before Kotaro can leave, they get a report on Earthlings attack each other. They spin the Kyulette and Lucky, Hammy, Commander Ronpo, Champ and Stinger are chosen. Champ is still not too keen on working with Stinger until he has proof Stinger did not murder Dr. Anton.
The Kyurangers head down to Earth and see both people and Indavers all acting like zombies. They morph and try fighting everyone off. Hammy gets slashed at and she too becomes one of the zombies. Champ uses the Ohitsuji Kyutama to make her fall asleep and Stinger warns the others not to get hit, otherwise they too will be infected.
Stinger uses the Tate Kyutama to block the zombies which allows them to escape into a warehouse.
Hammy wakes up and Stinger uses his tail to inject her with an antidote. It seems to be working. Stinger sends the Orion info on how to make the antidote which he is sure will cure the zombies.
Elsewhere, Scorpio recalls the day he pledged his allegiance to Don Armage and Jark Matter. Now that he is a Karo, he wants to make killing the Kyurangers his first order of business.
Naga, Balance, Garo, Spada and Kotaro arrive in the warehouse with the antidote ready to go.
Stinger asks Commander Ronpo if he can work on his own after this mission is over. Champ is against it, but Commander Ronpo knows it has to do with Scorpio.
Stinger explains that all signs from this zombie infection point to Scorpio who he believes is on Earth. Kotaro realizes Scorpio is Stinger’s brother.
Stinger explains how Scorpio betrayed their people and joined Jark Matter. And now that he is Jark Matter’s top assassin, he has been killing rebellion members. Champ concludes that both brothers are scum, but Lucky suggests it could be Scorpio who murdered the doctor.
Stinger admits that when he had found his brother’s location, he rushed over and attempted to try the new antidote on the doctor. And that’s what Champ saw.
Champ is incensed. Why would Stinger hide those details? Stinger says it wouldn’t have mattered and he regards his brother’s sins are his sins too.
Commander Ronpo asks Stinger what his intentions are for when he finds Scorpio. Stinger says he of course plans to kill him with his own hands. Kotaro steps forward and says he can’t do that.
Anyway, they have to focus on curing the zombies first. They all split up and spread the antidote.
Stinger is resigned to the fact that the brother he once knew is dead. Kotaro tries to talk to Stinger about his doubts and reminds him of what he said in the cave. Kotaro thinks Stinger may still believe in his brother, even now.
Champ is still upset that Stinger wasn’t completely honest about the night the doctor was murdered. Commander Ronpo explains what he knows of Stinger’s story.
Stinger searched the galaxy for any information he could find on his brother, quite recklessly at that. When Commander Ronpo found Stinger, he convinced him to use his power to fight Jark Matter. Since then, Stinger got his head on straight, but maybe still holds out hope his brother can be saved.
Champ remembers the doctor’s words about having compassion and wanting to save lives instead of being a brutal killing machine.
Champ goes to find Stinger and again asks what he will do if he finds Scorpio. Stinger repeats that he will kill him, but Champ knows he is hesitant. That’s why Champ will go with Stinger and finish the job himself if he has to.
Commander Ronpo says they can settle their business while the rest of them continue to find the Argo ship.
Lucky, Stinger, Commander Ronpo, Champ and Kotaro morph. They fight the Indavers while Scorpio watches his little brother.
Champ and Stinger team up to take care of the Tsuyoindavers before the five of them deliver an All Star Crash at Mondomuyoindaver.
Kotaro asks Stinger not to regret whatever decision he makes regarding his brother. Stinger promises.
Mondomuyoindaver embiggens. Commander Ronpo, Stinger and Kotaro hop into RyuTei-Oh. But a Moraimarz joins the fight as well. The others hop into KyuRen-Oh. And all together, they combine to RyuTei KyuRen-Oh to deliver a Super Galaxy All Star Scramble Break which takes care of both Mondomuyoindaver and the Moraimarz.
Back on the Orion, the Kyurangers prepare for Kotaro’s goodbye party. But Champ and Stinger are already on their way to search for Scorpio. Kotaro says it’s okay that Champ and Stinger aren’t here because it might mean Stinger believes in him already.
Commander Ronpo wishes Kotaro luck before singing a special song for him.
Champ is positive about his new partnership with Stinger.
Episode Thoughts
I was totally expecting a more quiet, breather-type episode this week after last week’s big ep. But I was very wrong. This was another great episode with plenty going on.
I never thought about the possibility of Scorpio being the one who killed the doctor. But it immediately clicked in my mind right at the start when we first saw Scorpio attacking the Daikaan so savagely.
I definitely like Stinger and Champ going off into the sunset together. Maybe there could’ve been an episode or two more drawing out their dynamic before seeing them team-up. It goes along with the season having each character have different and specific connections, dynamics or relationships with the others in the team.
It also fit very well with sending Kotaro off. I hope he isn’t gone too long. I’ve been enjoying the huge team together. But it was great to have him be very much involved in one more full episode of story before he disappears for a while.
Hammy totally got screwed over though since she got picked by the Kyulette, but didn’t end up fighting in the main battle of the episode or do the episode’s main roll call. Very sexist. lol
I enjoyed how badass Commander Ronpo was when he first found Stinger. It’s a nice little addition to his own backstory while expanding on Stinger’s. I love that contrast between his goofy Kyulette dancing personality and his badass side (and past). And then further contrast that with the little moment where Commander Ronpo comments on Kotaro’s youth and his lack thereof. Another fun scene.
The episode ending with Stinger and Champ walking into the sunset together was a great way to end. “If you aren’t going to kill your brother, then I will! Pardner!” lol Even if they are not with the team for a little bit, I do hope we still see them. I assume it’s more likely to check in with them than Kotaro. Though then again, I don’t know how long before they do end up facing Scorpio anyway.
Overall, another great and enjoyable episode.
