Recap: Kamen Rider Wizard, Episode 32 – Dangerous Part-Time Job

Wizard 32

Kosuke runs into an old high school friend, Tsuchiya, while blowing himself up with kebabs. Meanwhile, Haruto is busy fighting off Ghouls on the other side of town.

Wizard 32

Medusa watches, but Sora pops up and wonders what she’s doing since he never gave her any orders. She is his “subordinate” after all. He walks away after handing her his chewed piece of gum to throw away.

Wizard 32

Tsucchii brings Kosuke to his little shack of a home and they catch up a little. Tsucchii has a collection of guitars and he shows Kosuke a flyer promising a job that pays a million yen a day. That’s more than enough to buy guitars.

Shunpei excitedly brings the same flyer to the shop, but Haruto and Koyomi scare him (and Wajima) out of applying.

Next day, Kosuke and Tsucchii head to the job interview, along with a huge group of other hopefuls. No one questions why there’s a creepy old hunched over man conducting, or not really, the interview consisting of the applicants merely sitting in a room together.

Turns out, it’s all Sora. He and Medusa watch from behind a two-way mirror. Medusa isn’t really into this whole plan, but Sora has no other choice.

Next morning, Tsucchii heads back to the office building after getting the call that he’s hired. The creepy old man tells him and two other lucky hires that all they have to do is sit there and behave. After a day of doing pretty much nothing, creepy old man hands them their wages for the day, a million yen.

Tsucchii treats Kosuke to dinner at home and says they’re going to Yokohama for special training and a day’s pay of 10 million yen. Now things start to smell fishy, Kosuke thinks.

Wizard 32

Kosuke joins the others at the shop for lunch and fills them on his friend and his new job.

Wizard 32

They’re very hungry.

Haruto, Kosuke and Rinko watch from across the way as the creepy old man has hired a few more employees for their trip to Yokohama. Haruto recognizes the Gate from earlier is one of those employees and figures Phantoms must be involved.

Wizard 32

They sneak into the building, but the works have already gone. Instead, they find the secret room from which Medusa and Sora had been watching. They find the mirrors and see Medusa is in the other room.

They hurry over and she freely fills them in on Sora’s plans, even telling them to hurry to Yokohama.

Wizard 32

Creepy old man has taken the Gates to Dr. Maki’s old home. Sora wishes creepy old man, Kasahari, also known as the Phantom Bogy, well as he sets out to drive the workers to despair using a fear of death.

Wizard 32

Haruto and Kosuke arrive just in time. They tell everyone to run as they henshin and fight Bogy. They take the fight outside, take care of some Ghouls and Haruto uses Infinity to finish off the Phantom.

Wizard 32

But Sora pops in and says it’s fine, since now the real show begins. Haruto wonders what he means, not noticing a green energy flowing into the group of Gates.

Wizard 32

Tsucchii apologizes to Kosuke and thanks him for opening his eyes as he packs up and leaves Tokyo to stay away from the Phantoms. He gives Kosuke a guitar pick necklace before he drives off.

Episode Thoughts
This was an alright episode. I do like episodes that give us tidbits about our heroes’ backstories a little. Which reminds me, we still haven’t learned about Koyomi’s past and also in the dark about Haruto’s other than his parents dying. Hopefully we get more before the season ends.

Having only recently finished OOO, Dr. Maki’s house was definitely familiar. My recognizing of familiar Toei filming locations has no extended to Kamen Rider and not just Sentai. Hee.
