Recap: The Amazing Race Philippines, Episode 13 (Leg 4, Day 2) – “Sige na, wag ka na magpa-kiliti!”

Recap: The Amazing Race Philippines, Episode 13 (Leg 4, Day 2)

Sheena & Gee set off from the mines and let Dani & Mish hitch a ride with them as 8 people cram into their taxi.  Meanwhile, Angel is still struggling with trying to unlock her chest then struggles with trying to carry the bullion out of the mines.  She flips it along the ground, both her and Ed thinking they are last. But when Pamela comes brisk walking into the mine, she gets a burst of energy and carries it to the finish.

On the way to the Market, Saida & Jervi decide to Yield Marc & Kat to keep it from becoming the Marc & Kat Show all the time.  But when they do get to the Yield, they decide not to for fear of karma.

So they open the next clue and find the Detour.
In Sell 10, teams must sell 10 Baguio walis or local brooms for P60 each.
In Buy 10, teams must search the market to buy ten items as shown in a provided photo album using only the provided funds.

Saida & Jevi choose Sell 10.  Marc & Kat arrive 2nd and sell as well, but Kat uses kisses to get them to sell their brooms before Saida & Jervi.  Fausto & Dayal arrive at the Yield.  Fausto wants to Yield Boom & Cheng and already has their little Courtesy of picture up,  but Fausto guilts him into not using it, so they put Boom & Cheng’s photo back in the box and rip their own picture off.

They decide to buy, but go to the broom seller, get confused and end up deciding to sell instead.  LJ & CJ arrive 4th at the Market, but Boom & Cheng run to the Yield first and decide to Yield LJ & CJ who are right next to them.

LJ & CJ turn the hourglass and have to wait 18 minutes.  They are annoyed.

Marc & Kat and Saida & Jervi now head to B.M. Parungao Shoe Store where teams must find and match 10 pairs of shoes which have been scattered around the store.

Thinking they are two of the last three teams, Sheena & Gee and Dani & Mish decide to work together and choose Buy 10.

At the shoe shop, Saida & Jervi think they’ve matched the 10 they need, but the saleslady says no.  That allows Marc & Kat to pass them and are in 1st, again.

Teams can now hop on a jeepney to the Pit Stop at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto.  But they can only be checked-in if they give Derek the correct number of steps up to the Mat.

As LJ & CJ’s Yield has ended, Fausto & Dayal catch up to Saida & Jervi at the shoe store.  But the Amigas manage to finish before them and head to the Grotto.

Meanwhile, back at the mines, Pamela wanders around inside, unsure what she’s supposed to be doing.

Episode Thoughts
A full episode.  First off, ugh at Marc & Kat.  Really now?  Now they’re getting lucky too?  Please please let someone pass them at the Pit Stop.

Anyway, a huge opportunity for Saida & Jervi to have finally won a leg if they had Yielded Marc & Kat.  Instead, we got Boom & Cheng apparently clueless at how a Yield works and Yielded the non-threatening LJ & CJ instead.  Now, I’ve been pretty bored by LJ & CJ so far, but way to waste a Yield.  Not only are they getting cocky about how funny they are, they’re starting to act like Fausto & Dayal with them somehow being great Racers.  Mmkay.

Interesting how most of the teams though Pamela & Vanessa were pretty much ahead of them.  Ed & Angel thought they were last and Sheena & Gee and Dani & Mish thought they were running from elimination too.

It should be a very full episode 3 tomorrow, maybe the first time we’ve had one yet.
