Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez to Host Amazing Race Philippines?
Eagle eyed topaz at Reality Fan Forum noticed what could have been TV5’s announcement of hosts (plural!) of the upcoming The Amazing Race Philippines.
During the network’s evening newscast, Aksyon, the news appeared in the ticker:
Marc Nelson at Rovilson Fernandez, magiging hosts ng Amazing Race: Philippines
or in English:Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez will be hosts of Amazing Race: Philippines
However, anchors Erwin Tulfo and Cheryl Cosim made no mention of the news. And it seems the news was removed from the ticker for TV5’s late-night newscast Pilipinas News. There’s also no mention of it on TV5’s news website Interaksyon nor on TV5’s Facebook page which has been regularly updated with TARPh updates, including last weekend’s first on-ground auditions in Davao.
Should be interesting if a TV5 intern was too quick on the trigger and if true, how two hosts would work on TAR. Both Marc and Nelson are alums of The Amazing Race Asia 2 where they placed 3rd. Both have TV hosting experience since their TARA run, while Marc co-hosted ABS-CBN’s Sports Unlimited before running the Race. Derek Ramsay was rumored to be the favorite to host TARPh as a part of TV5’s offer for him to transfer networks after his ABS-CBN contract expired last month.
