The Amazing Race has made Emmy history, tying The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as having the most consecutive Emmy wins in the series category.  TAR has won the Emmy for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program every year since the award was introduced in 2003.

After the show, executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer was asked whether he’d consider pulling The Amazing Race from Emmy contention to give other reality programs a chance to win.

“I doubt it,” Bruckheimer said. “We love these statues.”

Executive producer Bertram van Munster added: “We’re producing a better show than before, that’s the frightening part.
It’s so energizing to produce a show that has such enthusiasm around
the world.”

Emmy winners Kathy Griffin and Don Rickles presented the award to TAR, with Rickles engaging with van Munster saying “Let me stand with you, like I won something.”

The Amazing Race was nominated against higher rating series American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.
