The Amazing Race Wins 5th Straight Emmy

The Amazing Race won it’s 5th straight Emmy for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program at this year’s Emmy Awards held this past Sunday.
Race beat out fellow nominees American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, Project Runway, and Top Chef. The show has won the category since it was introduced in 2003.
In addition, Race won two technical Emmys for Outstanding Cinematography and Outstanding Picture Editing for Reality Programming.
Race‘s 5th Emmy ties the records held by Frasier as the winningest program in a series category and for the longest consecutive win streak (5 straight wins).
The 12th season of The Amazing Race is being held until midseason on CBS.
