The Race continues to the Summer capital of the Philippines, but it’s anything but cool and refreshing as teams get down and dirty in the mines of Baguio on the 4th Leg of The Amazing Race Philippines.
This was a strange Leg. And the three episode format definitely didn’t help.
I absolutely hated the first episode of this Leg. How horrible it was to have Marc & Kat and LJ & CJ heading to the Pit Stop before the other teams had even arrived in town. And most of the teams left within an hour or two of each other. The way the leg began was not good, and Wednesday’s episode featuring only Marc & Kat and LJ & CJ doing tasks was incredibly slow and sometimes boring.
It doesn’t matter what language TAR is in, there’s always one thing every team needs to remember: “READ YOUR CLUE!”
Leg 3 continues as the teams struggle with chickens and pots, but strangely enough, no pies.
Time for the teams to move up as the Race takes them up the winding roads into the Mountain Province.
Well, I must say Leg 2 was definitely much more fast-paced. The first episode of the leg (Saturday’s) was the best of the series so far; crazy, frantic, exciting, and fun.
It was great to see the North getting some love on Philippine TV. I definitely want to go Vigan someday. The tasks were very good. The Detour and Intersection were excellent. The Detour provided hilarious and awesome drama and competition while the Intersection was a hilarious trainwreck and fun to watch.
It’s the end of the 2nd leg and teams rush to break their clue-containing pots before the Race breaks them in one of the most shocking finishes at the Mat on any Amazing Race!
The Race continues in Vigan as the horses aren’t the only ones being uncooperative. Meanwhile, others descend towards the water and towards the Pit Stop.
It’s time to head North as teams continue the Race in Ilocos. Which teams will be able to swallow the pressure of the toughest tasks yet?
Well, it took a little getting used to, but I think the first leg and the first week of The Amazing Race Philippines was overall a success. By no means was it perfect, but it managed to accomplish a lot of things including presenting an excellent cast and being fun and hilarious.
