A plane crashed on a mysterious island in 2003 and I was hooked.
The Lost series premiere was incredible television, something rarely seen, and it hooked myself and millions of people around the world.
An intriguing and intricate series that sucked Continue reading
The 2000s have come and gone. A new decade is about to begin and lists of the best movies, music, television, paint colors, boy band, furniture, light fixtures, etc. are pouring in. As we close out 2009 and the 2000s, I thought about my own list. But my list of television shows aren’t necessarily “the best,” but the shows that defined my decade. The shows that meant something to me the last ten years, shows that left their mark in my mind and in some cases my heart as well.
On to the list! →
THE APPRENTICE: MARTHA STEWART
You just don’t fit in.
And with those words, the first contestant was sent packing by Martha Stewart. Her gentler, nicer, and more colorful version of The Apprentice began last night. Though there weren’t any big surprises or twists, The Apprentice: Martha Stewart delivered.
Martha’s version will of course be compared to Donald’s. And much of the series is the same: two teams, one task, one team wins, one team goes to the board room (or in Martha’s case, the conference room) and one person is eliminated from the competition.
The conference room, the catchphrase, and Martha’s niceness are really the only major differences between the two Apprentices. That is one reason why NBC definitely made an odd decision to have “Martha Wednesdays” and “Trump Thursdays.” This kind of overload could spell trouble for the franchise.
But the contrasting personalities of Martha and the Donald should be able to distinguish the two Apprentice series.
Other than probably 5 contestants, the new Apprentice hopefuls weren’t really focused on. We did not learn much about any of them other than Bethanny and Martha’s version of George, a cigar holding Jim, already know each other. Hmm…
The tasks should illustrate Martha’s vision, both personally and the vision of her company. Last night’s book writing task was simple, yet the “Matchstick” team (who are supposedly creative) managed to create drama over adapting “Hansel and Gretel.”
Though Martha’s Apprentice wasn’t a ratings smash last night, its future is still bright.
The Apprentice: Martha Stewart is definitely “a good thing.”

LOST, SEASON TWO PREMIEREThey showed that the Emmy was well deserved last night. Thrilling, a little Alias-esque at the beginning… and even more mystery…. Lost is back!
Wednesdays at 9PM on ABC/KGO 7
Everyone said it was the best new drama of the season. Umm… how? After the “Lost” roller coaster, “Invasion” seemed slow, boring, and uneventful. The twists weren’t surprising and the story doesn’t seem gripping or interesting at all. “Invasion” was actually worse than “Threshold.” At least “Threshold” had an element of excitement.
Wednesdays at 10PM on ABC/KGO 7
What should be a gripping military drama is just a boring imitation of real-life situations. It was slow and not well-produced. It has a great premise, but Jerry Bruckheimer’s magic touch just didn’t help in the premiere episode.
Wednesdays at 9:00PM on NBC/KNTV 11 (Cable 3)
The Primetime Emmy Award nominations will be announced next month, and networks were busy promoting their shows for Emmy consideration. Here are the actors I think should be considered from the shows I actually watch. Tomorrow, I’ll post who I *want* to be nominated for Emmys, not who I *think* will be nominated. (Since most of the ones I want nominated will most likely NOT be nominated)

LOST SEASON FINALE ABC
OMG… “The Others” appear out of nowhere… that was “Dark Shadows” freaky… I was expecting them to say that they were all already dead or something, they looked like it… Taking Walt? wow… what are they going to do to him? and then The Others blowing up the raft…
I think that was the only major twist tonight… we didn’t get to see what was inside the hatch… just a long passage/tunnel/thing into the ground… And the monster? what the hell was that black smoke? Is the dinosaur a witch or something and can transform into a puff of smoke?
Overall, it was still an awesome episode…
ALIAS SEASON FINALE ABC
We get back to the Rambaldi stuff… and that big red ball exploding into water like in season one’s finale with Vaughn getting stuck in the room after that red ball exploded… those infected zombies were pretty freaky too… were they supposed to bring on the end of the world? So the small device was just a blueprint of sorts for the big device? I get it now…
And I was saying to myself… “wow… is Alias going to have a happy ending for once?” and of course, here comes Vaughn saying it isn’t his real name and then some truck hits them from the side… that took me completely by surprise, I jumped out of my seat…
JJ ABRAMS is a genius… a pure genius… man I wish I could be like him…
Yes!!! POWER RANGERS: DINOTHUNDER is back on Weekdays on ABC Family (beginning June 13th)
Even though I have all the episodes anyway, it’ll be nice to see it back on ABCFam… what a damn good show… (but it would’ve been better if Conner and Kira hooked up… geez)
VERONICA MARS SEASON FINALE UPN
YES! Duncan and Veronica are NOT brother and sister…. so now they can go back to being a legitimate couple… He was sooo at the door at the end of the episode… So the wierd movie actor guy killed her becuase she had the disgusting sex tapes… how Hollywood… lol… The last scenes of the episode were scary… Veronica in the ice box was like Sydney in a coffin on an episode of ALIAS this season… I thought Aaron Echolls almost losing his arm to Backup and then getting hit by a truck was both funny and very random… anyway, UPN better move VM to another timeslot becuase I’m getting a little tired of taping it… lol
Hmm… nothing too shocking… Walt was being his wierd self… Kate has some kind of freaky supernatural power too… she killed her mother? by touching her hand… or maybe she had a needle or poison or something, I dunno… Nothing too special really…
Haven’t seen it yet, but Sloane’s wife is back for one episode… her death episode was one of the best… Anyway… Lena Olin finally stopped being stubborn and greedy and is finally back as Irina Derevko next week… lol
Oh man, I was screaming “RUN THOSE FREAKS OVER!” Why couldn’t they have just run over those satanists with the tank? They had to go out and actually fire their weapons… darn… and of course more eerie stuff… Olivia’s death was so sad… the Sister going to see where they took her and then her seeing them taking her heart out… and then Olivia being led to heaven by the Doc’s daughter… wow… and then the last scene with Hawk walking into fire… geez… next week is the finale… should be amazing…
THE CONTENDER NBC
I hope Manfredo wins it all… I am so glad Jesse beat that cocky Alfonso… His daughter was pretty sad though…
AMERICAN DREAMS NBC
OMG… If that was the series finale (and I pray to God that it wasn’t)… then American Dreams ended in the worst possible way… Even as a season finale (and it wasn’t even that, since this episode was supposed to lead into a two-part season finale, but NBC cut the episode order to 17)…
Was that supposed to be romantic? Umm… no…
Meg is so stupid… what a dumb bitch, seriously… I can’t believe she chose some piece of crap over her own family and friends… how can she justify what she did? He lied to her, he’s a drunk crackhead smoker, he is a murderer, a draft dodger… overall just a jackass…
The only other real story in tonight’s episode… JJ and NASA and Beth… that was heartbreaking, but understandable… now THAT was understable unlike Miss “I want to run away with my lover”… Ugh…
I think the NEED to resolve these stories is reason enough for NBC to renew the show… (in addition to the fact that AD is one of the few actual quality, critically acclaimed shows on NBC, NBC is a complete mess and AD’s timeslot is one less to deal with if it is renewed)
THE OFFICE NBC
This show is freakin’ hilarious… they began the original American scripts last night and it was so funny… I love this show… one of my new favorites…
Wow… what a great episode… very eerie again… Terry O’Quinn (Locke) is an amazing actor… definitely deserving of an Emmy nomination… His backstory (part 2) was so sad… How about Bloody Boone… I think Ian Somerhalder has been seriously underused, same with Maggie Grace (Shannon)… There are episodes when they aren’t even in one scene…
Anyway, that airplane has to mean something, I mean the Virgin Mary statues (minus the crack) and then Locke’s mother saying he was “immaculately conceived”… I wonder who’s going to die at the end of the season…
FINALLY… an episode of season 4 that I liked… maybe because I actually watched the whole episode, or maybe becuase Marshall was the main focus… he is hilarious and how cool was it to have him back in the field… I remember the last time he and Sydney were in the field and he had taken a drug himself and he was all woosey and out of it and Syd snapped him out of it once she kissed him and he then was working at super speed after that… lol… Syd’s kisses are adrenaline boosters… lol… but this is a great episode, still I’m still missing the old ALIAS
However, this dialogue between Jack & Marshall was so random, but hilarious:
Jack: “You’re going to need a digging instrument to assist with this.”
Marshall: (searching through the dead guy’s desk) “Uh, I got a spork!”
Jack: “What’s a spork?”
Marshall: “It’s like a half-spoon, half-fork. Will that do?”
Jack: “That will work.”
AMERICAN IDOL FOX
Ewe… I thought we were rid of Anwar… I liked Jessica, she was very good… but whatever… Idol’s sucked since season 2…
