Leg 8 – “This dog doesn’t want us to win!”

Teams open up their first clue which tells them to GASP! vote at the Forced Double U-Turn board! (Sponsored by Samsung and Smart.)

And after voting for two teams, they will drive themselves using a 2016 Kia Sportage to Aberdeen.

Here, teams will catch a 5pm overnight car ferry to Lerwick on the Shetland Islands.

Once in Lerwick, teams must find the Puffin at the Royal National Lifeboat Station. The Puffin will hand them their next clue.

That clue directs teams to Scalloway Castle.

Teams must put on knight’s armor and choose a Scottish deerhound who they will lead through a marked course on the castle grounds. Once their new best friend has run the course and both team members are right in step, they will get the next clue.

Teams must search the grounds for the Forced Double U-Turn Reveal Board sponsored by Samsung and Smart. After checking in, teams can get their next clue.

That clue reveals the Detour: Pony Up or Light My Fire. Teams will learn that this is a Limited Stations Detour (!) and there is room for only three teams at each Detour at a time.

In Pony Up, teams must travel to the peats of Scalloway and cut 50 blocks of peat from a peat bank using a tusker. They must then load a Shetland pony with two loads of peat and deliver them up the hill to a waiting farmer in order to receive their next clue,

In Light My Fire, teams must build a traditional Viking torch. Once done, teams must make their way to Hay’s Dock where they will present the torch to Guizer Jarl who will light the torch and give them the next clue.

Teams must now drive themselves to this berry farm in Scalloway.

And here they will find the Road Block: Who’s good at giving orders?

For this Road Block, teams must build a pen and lead a flock of sheep into it. Once all sleep are safely in their new home, they will receive their next clue.

And that clue directs teams to the Pit Stop on St. Ninian’s Isle.

The first team to check-in here will win P200,000 courtesy of Shell V-Power Nitro+.

The last team to check-in here WILL be eliminated.

“Director’s” Commentary

Yes! Another recycled Leg. Hehe. Scotland would be a nice two-Leg country. And TAR25 is awesome, so why not recycle a Leg from them.

The Puffin will definitely be present on this Leg. The task at Scalloway Castle is just an extra thing for the teams to do since there are only six teams here instead of the nine on TAR25.

I made the Detour one of those TAR Canada “Limited Stations” Detours so both will featured. But the U-Turn will also ensure that both tasks will be done anyway. It would be awesome if more than two teams end up being U-Turned.

The sheep task in TAR25 was good, but it definitely seemed like it should’ve been a Road Block. Anyway, anything with animals will always be fun and this could be a very difficult task.

Overall, a solid recycled Leg. But brand new for Philippine audiences yeah?
