The Amazing Race Nominated for 7 Primetime Emmy Awards!

It’s that time of year again.  The Emmy nominations were just announced and The Amazing Race has again been honored with noms.

TAR is nominated in seven categories, all of which the same categories they were nominated last year, including Outstanding Reality-Competition Program and Phil Keoghan for Outstanding Host.

Betram van Munster returns as a nominee for Directing as well as nominations for Cinematography, Picture and Sound Editing and Sound Mixing.

TAR went home empty handed for the first time last year, winning none of the technical categories as well as its shocking loss to Top Chef for the top prize after owning the category for the previous seven years.  This is TAR’s 9th series nomination and will try to regain the Emmy crown with the season 18 episode “You Don’t Get Paid Unless You Win.”

The Emmys will air on Fox on Sunday, September 18th.

The Amazing Race‘s 2011 Emmy Nominations:
Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program
Outstanding Cinematography for Reality Programming
Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming
Outstanding Picture Editing for Reality Programming
Outstanding Sound Editing for Nonfiction Programming (Single or Multi-Camera)
Outstanding Sound Mixing for Nonfiction Programming
