It’s Always A Very Sunny Christmas in Philadelphia

All great television dramas and comedies have holiday specials, regardless of holiday. So it was only a matter of time before FX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia had one of their own.

A Very Sunny Christmas, a double-length Christmas special, is being released exclusively on DVD this week and for any Sunny this is a real treat. No coal for the Sunny crew with this gem.

While it probably would have to stay 50 feet away from Charlie Brown and other traditional holiday specials, A Very Sunny Christmas is everything you love about the show mixed with a touch of the holiday spirit. Definitely a fun addition to the holidays.

A sort of Christmas Carol-esque story sees Dennis and Dee wanting Frank to change his ways and give them the Christmas he’s taken away from them since they were kids. Meanwhile, Charlie and Mac get rude awakenings about their own families’ treasured Christmas traditions.

A Very Sunny Christmas is full of the hilarity and craziness of the series, including presenting the opportunity for the Gang to show off their great melodic a capella voices once again for “O Holy Night” and a new original song presented in a very unexpected, but awesome setting.

The episode ends with surprising twists and a very touching final scene, rounding out one hell of a Christmas Eve and Day for the Gang.

F-bombs, nudity, and blood… a Christmas only Sunny can do. And they did it very well.

Definitely worth picking up the DVD.
